oreo update

I did update to crc2 oreo by using ad card but lost my apps. I'm ok with that it was worth it. Now I want to upgrade higher. My question is will I wipe my data again.

What's "ad card"? If you update through OTA or flash with Odin & HOME_CSC data won't get wiped.
