ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 or Huawei Mediapad M3 ?
Iwas in same situation as you.. Mediapad or ZenPad.. ZenPad has a little bigger screen but mediapad has much better performance better sound quality, battery life and the ui looks much better on mediapad.. Asus ui is damn ugly

I'm not expecting an Oreo update from Huawei. And I'm starting to think we won't be getting it through a custom rom neither...
We bekomme no real custom Rom like cm or something for this tab because the kirin soc...Maybe kangvip make an Rom based on stock it's all... For oreo an Employee from Huawei sad on Mate 10 Präsentation that only Mate 9 and P 10 will become an oreo update...

Guys thank you.
Huawei Mediapad M3 would be great, but it has a small screen ... Otherwise there is the 10 "Lite" version.
Maybe you know some alternatives? Under 400€

My opinion is that monthly security patches are more important than Firmware updates. The security patch on the M3 8.4 LTE is from May 2017. Obviously not a priority for Huawei in fixing e.g. the KRACK or Blueborne vulnerabilities on Tablets. My P9 just got a Patch last week.

Update: I made a similar post on Huaweiblog.de sometime last week and just noticed that they deleted my post ... WTF?!

The latest security patch for M3 is November 2017 patch
It's has been rolled out over OTA but still not found on Huawei firmware finder app

That's good to hear as Huawei CS told me there were no further update plans when I asked them about the security patch level.

Thank you for contacting Huawei Ireland Customer Care Team.

Regarding your query, we understand your concern for the security matters, but we can assure you that cyber security and privacy protection are at the core of Huawei’s interest. At the moment there are no updates plan for the device, but you can keep an eye on http://www.huawei.com/en/psirt for security queries.

We trust the above information is of assistance to you. However, should you have any further queries, Please do not hesitate to get back in touch.

I dont get why they are so quick to throw the device under the bus so to speak, its one of best tablets out there.
Same thinking here ... Huawei is treating the M3 8.4 as if it were an unwanted child ;)

nice too have a way to query security patches. we should do this every 1-2 months to get newer security patch level updates.
with actual security patches i would have no problem without oreo. but hopefully the next update will not take this long. last security patch level was may.
Just like I said a couple of posts above, security updates are more important.
Really? Begging monthly for security patches? ;) It could work BUT only if Huawei or their Bloggers are actively monitoring this M3 forum and if they show mercy ;) to M3 users then maybe we'll get the security patches for our devices. :fingers-crossed:
BTW ... other makers automatically manage to ship patches monthly. My mid-class Tab A 10.1 just got one a few day ago.

one thing might try is a group effort of hitting their twitter with requests for security patches.
