locked bootloader

@dr.ketan

I have a Chinese GT-N7100.
And if has a lock bootloader (whish I knew back them).
Basically I depend on Mobile Odin to skip the bootloader issues.

4.3 stock was fine, except for the wifi issue.

As I understand the issue _is_ related to the bootloader, right? (PC Odin fails me).
Is there any work around to get it work if not thru PC Odin/bootloader patching?

thanks for your effort and time.

De-Knoxing Sammobile Firmware

You needs linux or cygwin
Simply you need to extract file with unzip, remove sboot.bin,param.bin and tz.img
Rest of file you have to repack to make odin flashable tar
Dear @dr.ketan ,

First let me thank you for your fabulous ROM and work done here. I am on your custom ROM which has been working flawlessly from day one of installation. However since you announced your (semi)retirement from Note2 development I was thinking of making my own ROM (especially since it is the usual practice when an ENT Surgeons gives up the General Surgeons takes over!!). To this end I have installed Ubuntu on my laptop (I have a noobish but working knowlege of ubuntu) and also familiarized myself with the KItchen and now able to understand how toroot, busybox and de-odex a ROM.
Since the new firmware downloaded from Sammobile contains the Knox enabled bootloader and I want my device to be KNox free I need to know how to remove the bootloader and all Knox related bits from the downloaded firmware. You have mentioned that all we have to do is to delete sboot.bin, param.bin and tz.img from the extracted ROM. How ever when I extract the downloaded ROM (N7100DDUML4_N7100ODDEML2_N7100DDMK1_HOME.tar) I get the following:
boot.img cache.img hidden.img modem.bin recovery.img sboot.bin system.img tz.img
There is no param.bin !!!!

Please tell me how to remove the bootloader (what files i need to delete) and anything else that I need to do to make the ROM completely Knox free.

Sorrr for the lengthly post and thank you in advance. (Ihave searched extensively but have not found a proper answer)

I've runned dr Ketan tool in my Note 2..

But, im having some strange issues with touchscreen, after flashed the tool, in tweaks i've choosed "increase touchscreen responsiveness", but apparently this option has f*cked my touch...

Sometimes, touch just don't work, or i press something and touch do not respond...

Anyone else with this problem/bug?

Dr Ketan, could you help?

No! WiFi Fix cannot be flashed with Mobile Odin Pro as it does not flash the bootloader. You need to use PC Odin.
Thanks did it in mobile Odin didn't work found a Odin version on my old laptop. Flashes liked butter. I'm out back to N5 forums .

To remove bootloader you need to delete three files as you have mentioned, but sometimes param.bin and Tz.img may not included. So remove available files.
To deKnox just look to My MultiTool script to deknox ROM and manually follow as per script.

Flash any rom without bootloader (custom) and then flash wifi patch

Sent from my SM-N900 using xda premium

This is what I did, using Mobile Odin, but had a lot of random force closes and even reboots.
After having flashed MJ5 bootloader these seem to be gone, so at least in my setup, the old 4.1.2 bootloader and wifi fix were not a very good match.

However I don't quite understand why I now have the knox bit in download mode, since MJ5 according to most people, does not contain knox. It it still 0x0 but I suppose this is because I was already rooted when I flashed the new bootloader.

Boot animation sound

Dear @dr.ketan

could you please help me with an advice? You know Note 2 so well and I need help:

I am trying to make boot sound work in one CyanogenMod based 4.4x ROM but I suspect that the CyanogenMod boot.img has only the scripts for running the boot animation but not for playing the sound.
Probably CM team has removed it from the builds in general. Can you confirm me if it is correct?

I did whole the procedure to make the boot sound to work, but it wasn't possible, look here how my "fight" with the scripts looked like (this way it has worked in the CM6 and CM7 builds):

Code:
adb shell
