Dear Doc, for some unknown reason, I cannot install custom recovery (Phils ver. 5.11.2 of ver 5.15.0 or TWRP 2.6.3.2) using Odin (ver 1.85, ver 3.7 or ver 3.85). I have tried ticking and unticking restart box. Odin update is always successful except for first one and my Knox warranty was set to void (01). Unfortunately, I cannot take screenshot (issue with phone). For N7100
As all of you are knowing latest 4.3 built have new bootloader and samsung have implemented knox security.

This is my second note II to modify but for something is new with software:
Model: N7100
Android 4.3
Base XXUENA3
Build XXUENA1
Location: Bahrain
Is there something new that I'm not aware?
This procedure works for me... maybe we can add this in OP.... :good::good::good:I also face this problem for a while.. then i found a solution... 1st flash ur phone with CF-AUTOROOT.. after rooting process over.... then flash ur recovery... now it will boot into philz touch .. then istall dr ketan multi tool... In Aroma installer.... dont select root device.(skip it because u already rooted with cf autoroot).... select Deknox.... and proceed ... now ur phone will be rooted.... (1st update super su with A Zip file using recovery.. then update it from playstore.. (direct playstore update didnt work for me )...
Yes u now have fully functional rooted device..
I think its better to flash a custom recovery once again in ur phone.
I prefer root the device with cf-autoroot... and deknox it with multitool... There is some problems in rooting process of multitool..I used this tool to root my wife's note 2 4.3.
The Device got root and deknoxed.
I updated SuperSU.
BUT
Root works for some apps, but not for the other apps like titanium backup, gamehacker.
These apps say your device isn't rooted.
When I enter "su" command in Terminal Emulator, TE stops working!
Root Checker says Root exists.
Note II N7100 Android 4.3 Build NA1
What should I do for full root?
Thanks!..,
That is bound to happen due to the Knox and SE linux architecture.I used this tool to root my wife's note 2 4.3.

So no solution at the moment? That is bound to happen due to the Knox and SE linux architecture.
If you see Samsung knox website they have mentioned it that for safety reasons even the system superuser doesn't have access to all the apps.
I guess thats y everyone is facing this problem.
If you want a rooted stock rom this problem will exist.I also tried cf-autoroot, but the same issue occured.

I read the DN3 thread. People are running kitkat on MJ5 Bootloader without any issues.Yeah it should work but what I doubt is without kitkat bootloader there may be many issue like device can't charge while switch off also there may be random reboot. Also Samsung have badly mess up directory structure and very common to get boot loop and flashing failure, particularly when you don't have kitkat bootloader. Though its what I presume, I have not yet tested kitkat on note2.

By knox will be erased I mean the knox apps because you are cleaning your existing ROM.Thanks
Let's clarify!
With Philz recovery I can install any ROM. (with 5.15 4.3 - with latest 4.4)
After NBackup
I should wipe everything, so Knox will be erased but as Knox bootloader is a different thing it remains.
If I flash a ROM, will Knox Bootloader give me problems later?
With K. Bootloader can I install any rom in Galaxy Note II Android Development?
Thanks again!By knox will be erased I mean the knox apps because you are cleaning your existing ROM.
And yes I don't think the Knox bootloader should cause any problems.
It worked for me with DN3 v3.2
So I suggest you try DN3 first as it is a stock based rom.

By the way you're on which bootloader? Thanks again!
In my free time, I will try DN3!.., :fingers-crossed:
Have a nice day
I have already lost warrantyYou can let me know your results on this.
And yes be prepared to lose your warranty as flashing philz will set the knox warranty void to 1.
