I will likely do a direct link with a cable. What's everyone's preferred method to transfer everything over to the S22 Ultra? Smart switch?

I'm at my wit's end. I was sent a phone through insurance replacement that's unable to receive OTA updates. It's unlocked but is somehow an ATT version of the Note 20 Ultra. When flashing the latest ATT version of the Note firmware, Odin says that it's a write failed opertion. I'm not sure if I should try to flash another carrier, despite it being unlocked on the download screen it says that the carrier is ATT. I'm using a Tmobile sim card. I don't know if I should give up and get an S22 or what.
I had to use the patched Odin. My baseband version is N986USQU1ATGPAre you using the Odin that's listed in post 2 or 3?
As far as the firmware is concerned there is no firmware specific to any of the carriers. They are technically the same, they install some specific things related to the carriers based on the SIM card thats installed.
If you look in your settings>About Phone>Software Information, what does it say under "Service Provider software version" and What is your Baseband version?
Extract (un-rar) the firmware file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin) ***
2. Download Odin v3.14.4
3. Extract Odin ZIP file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin)
4. Open Odin v3.14.4
5. Power OFF your Note20 Ultra 5G
6. Reboot Phone in Download Mode: Connect USB-cable to your computer. Hold down "Volume up" and "Volume down" at same time. While holding down, connect the USB-cable to your phone.
7. Wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
8. Add the firmware files to their designated slots (AP in AP, BL in BL, CP in CP, HOME_CSC in CSC). USERDATA stays EMPTY!
9. Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
10. Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes.
Good, I'm glad you got it figured outI had to use the patched Odin. My baseband version is N986USQU1ATGP
I'm on Tmobile, but it's unlocked. I think that it's the AT&T version that won't update OTA. I used the latest version of Android from here for AT&T hoping to gain back OTA updates. Well, I can't say gain back, because the phone is still on July 2020 patch. It's never been updated.
I was using the instructions provided on Sam mobile, and only flashing the AP file. I see these instructions on this website, I'm wondering if I wasn't doing a complete job.
If I follow these instructions, I won't brick my phone, will I? It's been years since I've rooted a phone or done any modifications, so I'm not sure if bricking only happens with rooting.
Update, I've done all of this and it still won't flash. It's stuck on the setup connection. I've tried multi builds, none work.
Last Edit
I figured it out. Someone told me to get the CSC and then find the firmware for the CSC a few days ago, and I didn't think that was important because it was unlocked. I had to do that, and once I matched that number, I found the correct build and was able to get it downloaded and working. Thank you for listening to my complaining.
Flashing a newer firmware will remove root. But if you have it SIM unlocked, that won't be touched since that's done from your carrier and is associated with the device IMEIStupid question, but does this kill the root? and have to have it unlocked again?
So I have to get it rooted all over again..... PITA seems my oneUI is at 4Flashing a newer firmware will remove root. But if you have it SIM unlocked, that won't be touched since that's done from your carrier and is associated with the device IMEI
I was looking for the thread about how to root, but I cant seem to find it. One of the guys here was rooted, and I THINK he was forced to stay on a specific build because the root method wasn't with the current OTA buildsSo I have to get it rooted all over again..... PITA seems my oneUI is at 4
All of the carrier firmware for U1 are aligned to N986U1UEU2EVA9 , although I don't see anything that specifies xFican anyone tell me what image to use for a SM-N986U1 that needs to be flashed back to a google fi image?
Sorry, not me.Are any of you guys using still a Note 20U on at&t? Trying to troubleshoot something regarding 5G+.

Good to know my man. I'm having issues getting 5G+ on my Note 20, I tried everything regarding the network, (i work on an AT&T store and did the troubleshooting, sim card swap, network reset, without luck), only thing I haven't tried is to factory reset the phone. And also I haven't put my hands on another Note 20 U here to test. It was just to see if other users here were getting 5G+ on their note.Let me know what your trying to do i still have my AT&T Note20 Ultra 5G Snapdragon 512GB as my backup phone.
Yeah as far as I know, is not as widespread so it might also be that there's no 5G+ in your area yet. If you see something at any time let me know! I would appreciate it.Only thing i get is 5G both phones never seen 5G+ On My AT&T Note20 Ultra 5G Snapdragon 512GB or even my S22 Ultra 5G Snapdragon
