S908USQU2CWCE - April Patch
S908USQU2CWCE - April Patch
Yeah just got CWE1 on locked AT&T S22U.
Actually if you go too far out your phone won't work correctly. I was screwing around with the date and I changed it to 2044 and everything google stopped working and my phone would not connect to my router. My phone kept telling me no network available. I took some pics and sent text and emails, and they all automatically stay at very top after I returned my date back to normal. Even after taking new pics and getting new text messages, they would be very first and say "just now" as time stamp. Funny ****. I eventually had to delete them because it became annoying. Lol
Lol I was kidding, never set it that far, just a few weeks or months ahead.Actually if you go too far out your phone won't work correctly. Where is the phone in the car? If it's on or near the dash, sunlight is the problem. The Snap Dragon version doesn't have an over heating problem. I positioned my phone so that I can easily see it and it's in front of an A/C vent.Anyone in the south west having issues with the S22 Ultra overheating when mounted to the dashboard on a stand inside a car? I've had this issue since the beginning of summer here in Vegas and when this occurs the phone will automatically shutdown in order to cool off and is inoperable for a while after that.
I'm guessing this is the by product of the inefficient chip in the S22 Ultra that runs warmer since I never had this issue with my prior Note 20 Ultra. It's barely may out here so the hot dry weather has yet to hit its peak. Only workaround I'm utilizing right now is flipping one of the a.c vents upwards in the direction of the phone and that seems to somehow keep the overheating tolerable enough that it doesn't shut down completely..
Most likely your screen brightness. Turn off auto brightness. The screen on the S22 and 23 ultras goes brighter than the 20 series phones. It being at full brightness from the sun being in direct contact with screen for prolonged amount of time would over heat the phone. I have it on top of the dashboard so there is sun exposure definitely but saying that I had my prior Note 20 Ultra on the same stand for the last few years and did not have 1 single issue. The S22 Ultra does for sure have a tendency to over heat easily but I'll keep an eye out on the brightness to see if that'll alleviate it. Summers can get really scorching here in Vegas and Phoenix where I spend my time going back and forth between the 2 cities. I have turned off adaptive brightness for now which is a start as well. Most likely your screen brightness. Turn off auto brightness. I live in Hawai'i we have sunlight practically everyday year round. Placing it on the dash always makes it overheat. I've had heating problems when in my car mount with every phone I've owned since living here. That includes, two Windows Phones, an HTC, iPhone, S8+, Note 8, Note 10+, and now the S22U. I've also lived in Arizona for several years; I know how hot it gets in that neck of the woods. That is why I said position it in front of an A/C vent. You don't feel how hot it gets because you have A/C blowing on you. Place a thermometer on the dash while driving, even with the A/C on, and how hot it gets. You wil be surprised.I have it on top of the dashboard so there is sun exposure definitely but saying that I had my prior Note 20 Ultra on the same stand for the last few years and did not have 1 single issue. No, locked AT&T actually.
Very strange. I used the dialer code trick to pull it this time, and have for the last several updates with no issues. I've also done the whole date change thing before to pull an update, and once I've gotten it and changed the date back all has been fine. Sucks that something as simple as that could hammer your phone. Hope you get it resolved as painlessly as possible.I'm guessing it has to do with me changing the date to Dec. 1st to force the update. Guess I have no choice but to Odin.
This worked great!Alright Bois, GOT THE FIX. Works for all S22/+/Ultra
Had the same issue everyone else is experiencing after the latest Aug update:

There's VERY little chance you'll brick (The only way that I know you can is pulling the USB cable when flashing), that aside, it'll just error before the flash could happen. How do i know which firmware to download? Im a complete beginner... i have an att locked (making payments) 22 ultra sm-s908U. I was told to get the u1 firmware because its unlocked and i can use rcs thru jibe not att, but i also was told i need to get the firmware that matches the model number which is U. I may be overthinking, but it's confusing. And all the U options are labeled by carrier, there doesn't seem to be an unlocked firmware for my U phone. And if i were to get an U1 firmware, there are a few options with no explanation on the differences and which to get. Don't get me started on the advice to look for XAA firmware, because i don't see that anywhere lol. Apologies if this seems ridiculous, i just don't want to brick my phone
