Wondering can you and have you been dirt flashing from U1 to U and then back to U1 without any issues like having to reset ?
Yes, I have been going back and forth dirty flashing between the latest U1 and U. Not a single issue.
Same here, U1 version. Been going back and forth. No reset.
Have there been no hacks figured out to get this working? I saw some old reddit post about some hacks on the Note 20 but they were oldish. I want one of the samsung exclusive colors but not having that functionality will bother me every time I open the dialer.
Please confirm what exactly you are and are not flashing so I don't make any stupid mistakes ?
BL, AP, CP and HomeCSC, is the basic dirty flash without losing data. I never flash userdata. AP takes awhile to load sometimes Odin even gives the "not responding" message but that's normal. It just takes awhile (SUPER IMG is in that one).
I've never seen the TMO video call, I have U1 version on TMO and Samsung uses DUO as default. Even when I flash the TMO software (I'm on it now) there isn't any difference in that regard. Maybe on an actual TMO device, not sure been a very long time since I had a carrier device.
Okay so it's still a carrier only function.I've never seen the TMO video call, I have U1 version on TMO and Samsung uses DUO as default. Actually I'm very WRONG, went to the dialer and tried to video call and it gave me the option to use DUO or Video call. Called myself and got a busy signal... LOL. But I see what your saying.Okay so it's still a carrier only function.
So on carrier devices the camera in the dialer is for lack of better words and simplicities sake; routed intra network without need of any app. So all Android phones on the same carrier can video call similar to FaceTime. Contacts on external carriers or with older phones will launch to DUO if they have a recognised user id. The network thing is good for older people that cant be bothered with apps for every different thing. It hit the call button and the video call goes through just like a phone call.
Thanks a lot for clarifying the issue ... I am new hereDude, you are asking the same question again and again. SM-S908U1 or SM-S908U cannot be flashed with any other model firmware period. It doesn't matter if you flash or Samsung service center flashes it. If call recording is important, buy an Indian model S22U and sell the USA model.
Thanks a lot for understanding dear. I am totally new and I don't understand these terms.
I would never support locking the thread, it's how everyone learns and has some fun too
There's VERY little chance you'll brick (The only way that I know you can is pulling the USB cable when flashing), that aside, it'll just error before the flash could happen. How do i know which firmware to download? Im a complete beginner... i have an att locked (making payments) 22 ultra sm-s908U. I was told to get the u1 firmware because its unlocked and i can use rcs thru jibe not att, but i also was told i need to get the firmware that matches the model number which is U. I may be overthinking, but it's confusing. And all the U options are labeled by carrier, there doesn't seem to be an unlocked firmware for my U phone. And if i were to get an U1 firmware, there are a few options with no explanation on the differences and which to get. Don't get me started on the advice to look for XAA firmware, because i don't see that anywhere lol. Apologies if this seems ridiculous, i just don't want to brick my phone
