I personally like the all white icons.

Read about the dialer here...

Thats not the dialer we have though. We get the lame one included with touchwiz.

Once a day or so I'll just randomly lose all mobile data/voice/sms access and have to restart my phone to clear it up. Anyone else seeing this? I've talked to other people who have samsung vzw phones with 4.4.2 update and they are seeing similar problems.

This needs to be fixed.

I am on mobile data all day at work. While I am at my desk the signal strength is not too good (Been that way with all phones I have had). I have never seen the issue you have talked about. Dos the mobile data come back at all or only if you do a reboot?

So far, I like the changes that Kit Kat brings to the Note 3. It fixed a few things for me, but messed up a few things as well.

Intermittently, when I try to turn the screen on, there is a full 3 second lag between me pushing the button and the screen actually coming on. Didn't do this before.

Also, when I'm finished with a phone call, I pull the phone away from my head to tap "end" and the screen fails to turn itself on. If I hit the power button to turn on the screen, it turns on, but by that point the other cashier had already hung up.

Could these two issues be related? Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks

Update: I have fixed both of the issues I was having since the update. As I suspected, both problems were related. I was using "S for switch voice" in conjunction with S voice, and for some reason one of the two was causing the problems I had. I disabled the "wake when screen off" settings, then I stopped, cleared cache and data for S for switch voice, rebooted, then re-enabled both apps/functions. Problems solved!

Edit: after some time has passed, it's beginning to lag again. I'm going to try removing S for switch voice completely and see if that does it. If not, then it must be S voice causing problems.

Update 2: it seems that neither S voice or S for switch voice is causing the problems. I have disabled both and the problem still persists. It's strange, if I lock the screen and try to unlock it shortly after, it's fine. If the phone sits for a while, it lags real badly... 3-5 seconds for the screen to turn on.

Update 3: it was the SD card all along. I removed it and now all problems are gone. Idk why it was never a problem until the update, but somehow it is now. It was an old, slow SD card, and I wasn't storing anything on it, so I won't miss it.

Is the 4G icon persistent for anyone else when wifi is on? I know with jb the 4G icon would be replaced by wifi. Now they are side by side.

You will need to call Verizon! That doesn't sound good at all. Have you done a reboot of your phone?

I did several reboots. Called and talked to tier 1 and tier 2 tech support. Went to the verizon store and they gave me a new nfc sim card which didn't help. They did a factory reset on the phone and now I can't even use it on wifi because it won't activate at all. I'm seriously considering leaving samsung now. I can't even flash back to 4.3 because it's technically on kitkat now. Best of all. I had the phone fixed and they took the white lcd and back off and put a black one on so it looks like no insurance or warrantee claims.

This has really made me upset my phone is extremely sluggish now in all animation aspects even with them all set to .05x. The notification pull down is super slow to come up and down, it used to be instantaneous. Any one else notice this. I want to go back to 4.3 is that even possible with ODIN now?
At the moment once you take the ota update for kitkat your out of luck for now. Verizon found a way to really lock it down with kitkat.

Try doing a full factory reset. I read that it solves little glitches after updating. My phone was working fine, but had horrible battery life after the update. I went thru settings and found some things that were switched on by default. It improved things noticeably, but my battery was still draining kinda quickly. I did a factory reset and things are way smoother now, and great battery life. I got 7hr40min screen time on my last battery cycle, and animations are smooth as silk

Anyone else have issues charging the phone? I let it die, and had it plugged in for over 3 hours and it's only at 62% charge. I'm so pissed about this since it used to take about 1.5 hours to charge

Yeah but I think all is fine now, must have been the initial set up. Not sure really, but I charged it again and seems to be going much faster. BTW I hate that you can't long press the period and get the comma coming up right away anymore.

I try to use stock keyboards but I haven't found anything that works quite as good as Swype...I hated getting rid of the numbers row in the process though. On Swype the period and comma are on opposite sides of the space bar, no long press.

I'm happy to report my battery is back to normal. I went thru all the settings one by one and found numerous things that I had disabled before were turned on after the update. Several Google Now options that I don't use, were turned on. A secondary account that I have on my phone that I keep sync off completely until I need it, was set to sync. And several other random settings, but I think the ones I mentioned were the biggest problems draining the battery.

I'm not experiencing any screen issues. The screen turns on immediately when I click either the power or home button. It comes on instantly when I take the phone away from my head during a call.

Now that I've got this battery thing straightened out, I'm loving my phone again. And kitkat makes it run better than ever. Transitions & Animations are faster and smoother. Things open quicker and more fluid. And it's nice having the Google camera...
There's really no good reason to not update...

Although I really and I mean really miss the ability to flash things I must say kk runs super smooth. Battery life for me is more then awesome. I bought my note 3 4 days ago and yes it came 4.4.2 out the box. Mad yes somewhat but knowing this is no different regardless of the fear this notion being portrait concerning kk and if we can root or not it's worth it and yes we will have a root within the next few weeks. Reminds me of my iPhone jailbreak days every time apple released a new supposedly secure firmware what happened a week or so later lol a jailbreak.
