Hi,

i have a problem with Pokemon Go... actually it says from time to time that my Device is "incompatible" in the app. I disabled root. Safetynet is ok.

Any idea?

Lin 15.1 works fine... (from here)

I dirty flashed the latest build of CrDroid over Lineage Pie, latest build, and here are some of the things I discovered:
- The buttons in the quick settings panel stop working after a while. The panel comes down as normal, but hitting any button, like WiFi or setting do nothing. Using the system settings app works.
- Weather on lock screen does not appear. I have two weather provider system items, one is from CrDroid the other from my previous version of Lineage. How to remove the Lineage provider?
- APN settings for Orange in France prevented me from sending or receiving MMS. The standard, default, APN has no MMS parameters (server, proxy and so on). Nor is it editable. I noticed several extra APN settings for Orange which were not selectable which had the missing MMS parameters and added those to one of the editable Orange APN's and got it working.
- Battery life is slightly better than Lineage Pie, latest build. This is good.
- Fast charging used to sometimes shut down my device using Lineage. This does not happen anymore so far. Good.

Finally, is there a simple way to enable root - other than Magisk? I mean something similar to AddonSU in Lineage (BTW: Installing Lineage AddonSU on CrDroid displays all root options, but does not enable root - uninstalled). I don't like Magisk and certainly not SuperSU which in my experience sometimes makes a device non-bootable or results in boot loops. this is my only remaining issue with this build. Any advice is most welcome.

Thanks for the great work!

well as far as root is concerned ...su addon IS supersu since it uses the same su binaries ..the actual difference is it's just baked into some custome lineage roms ..giving you the option to enable or disable it ...the developer has to choose this during building from lineage sources .Magisk has basically overtaken supersu / su because it's systemless ...and has a modules option like xposed to tweak the system ..android is getting tighter and more locked down by google and gets closer to ios daily ..making it pretty difficult to include "system" or native root without errors and full functionality ..

your only option here is to request the OP to build in native root option when he pushes out the next rom update...until then just use magisk ...or flash supersu .zip ...it's the same as su-addon ..it's just not baked into uour OS and doesn't have a enable/ disable toggle ...however ..the root request dialogue will function the same and you can hide the apk interface from it's settings

if it crashes , the baked in su option would also have crashed or you need to update it etc ...

Update: My phone started restarting the UI by itself two days ago at random times. Didn't collect any logs. Reverted back to Lineage Pie. This CrDroid just seems too unstable - at least when dirty flashing over Lineage.

Side note: I tried to revert first by dirty flashing Lineage over CrDroid. Although it seemed to work at first, there were a number of niggling issues with the UI, the most severe was that WiFi would not connect to any of my routers and had lost the encryption key. Entering the key (password) would just give a message "configuration was not saved". A full restore from a backup and I'm back in business. It certainly pays to do a nandroid backup, folks.

lineage is boring and besides , it has many of the same small bugs that pop up from time to time. It's usually not the rom but rather your personal changes or options that don't gel with the rom ..if you're looking for stability i don't pie is the best option ..I'm flashing all the treble GsiS ..at the moment im on pie viper ...with magisk ..using systemless magick gapps thtough magisk ...couldn't be happier ..half of the time most problems on custom roms come from gapps or flashing gapps anyway ..i tried flashing the dev Q preview GSI but it didn't boot all the way ..next up i am trying out Havoc and Firehound ..anyway i find Viper OFFICIAL PIE GSI with systemless gapps the best experience I've had on marmite yet ..i use xposed for some things so i might return to Oreo to get a stable systemless exposed going ..anyway my point is I used CRdroid for a month or two and I enjoyed it thanks to the developer for his time and dedication and rather not moan about roms if you can't even post logs or thanks dev or provide better details or description about your setup and the crash(which was probably a theme or an apk or something you use or did or using old root management etc etc ) peace bro but please stop with the whole lineage this and that and the roms are unstable ..report a bug correctly and leave people who know stuff to decide or other users to decide if this rom is stable ..otherwise we will end up with nothing on marmite ..

Quite predictable. Here I was, posting not to moan or gripe, but to point out my experiences with this particular OS - which may or may not help other users. And first thing that happens is a flame reply with no constructive value. Well well.

For info, things started going wrong WITHOUT installing anything new, any unchecked apk, magisk, xposed or any other dubious extensions. I use my phone for work and medical. I don't have time to debug what I deem serious issues. Have maybe 12 apps installed - all from the play store. Nothing strange. Also, I'm no spring chicken when it comes to OSes and systems. 35 years as a systems engineer (co-developer of Windows Server since 1989), so I do know what is involved when running 3rd party OS builds.

The bugs described are entirely DUE TO DIRTY FLASHING THE ROM OVER LINEAGE!
Because it's the same base, does not make it compatible. System ui crashes and settings issues are due to the inherent differences in the roms you're flashing.
Do a clean install, stop being lazy, and it will work. I've been using CrDroid pie for a month or so with no issues, after a CLEAN flash from CrDroid oreo.

Hi has anyone tried crDroid with magisk hide and a banking app?

I would like to run crDroid, however, I wish to retain the use of my banking app!

Thanks

Update - note to self; this does not work!

Thank you for your work. This ROM was seriously unstable on Wileyfox Swift 2X even with the lineageos boot image. I have used it for about a month after a fresh install and here are some of the bugs that I found:

- Apps and ROM gestures randomly freezing.

- System UI freezing after taking a screenshot.

-Sometimes random reboots.

-Battery drain

-Sometimes very slow response

I went back to Lineage OS 16 which is really, really stable on the Swift 2X. Not sure what caused these problems. No Xposed or extra themes were installed.. just Magisk and micro gapps.

I can't provice any logs since I went back to LOS 16, sorry bout that

I'd also like to report a few issues with this rom.
While I love the customization options, there are a couple of bugs that break the user experience for me. like someone posted earlier, I also have the issue where the toggles for wifi, mobile data, bluetooth and such just don't work. the settings shortcut doesn't work either. manually toggling in the settings does work.
Mobile data also doesn't work for me. (Belgian operator) not sure why.
double tapping the power button for camera doesn't work either.
All these things only start working again after a reboot, but about 5 minutes in, none of these things work anymore.
Is the developer aware of these issues? Is this ROM still being developed? Would love to see a fix for these issues.

I've been using this rom for weeks now - the only bug I've come across is sometimes I lose mobile data. This can be resolved by making a phone call (I usually call account balance) and data works again. I suspect it may be a wakelock issue.

well, I'm having several issues with this rom.
For now, I switched to the oreo version of crdroid for marmite: works like a charm!
I'm staying away from the pie version for now untill it's more stable.

I'd like to report a bug. The usage graph in the battery usage menu does not reset even after a full charge or a manual stats reset via the battery settings menu. The app statistics reset fine but the graph does not and after a month it has bugged completely (see attached screenshot).
