Yep,same here...A few days ago,I've edited the build.prop file to get rid of annoying notification to update to frg83g(I'm using Geo's rom),the notification disappeard until today. After a reboot, now I get a pop up to update to android 2.2.1 FRG83D...Strange,but this is the truth,I don't know why...
Cheers

Show the update zip URL or it didn't happen.

I don't have to prove you nothing, you can believe me or not. But,with alogcat I've extracted the url, here it is:http://android.clients.google.com/p...4495509.signed-passion-ota-75603.5833e449.zip
Also,I can attach to a external link(file is too big for local upload) the zip file downloaded in /cache of my Nexus One.
All this thing it's very strange because latest Geo's rom it's already 2.2.1,I've only edited the build.prop to 2.2.2.Now.I don't know how to get rid of annoying OTA message, maybe someone can help me.
Cheers

adb remount
adb pull /system/build.prop

edit the file, in the fingerprint, substitute the FRGblablabla with ZZZ99Z

adb push build.prop /system/
adb reboot

That OTA seems a 2.2.1 stock ROM, not an downgrade

Hm, a full rom. Could be to get everyone up to date (from very old builds that get no incremental updates anymore, for example). Back un july froyo was released like that (remember "universal update"?).

Probably not related to gingerbread at all, they probably are trying to get every nexus one updated, regardless of build.
