I had problems installing, but found it was because my bootloaders were unlocked. I re-locked, did the OTA install, no issues, root was still there afterwards. So apparently unlocked (not unlockable, but unlocked) bootloaders prevent the OTA from running.

I unlocked my bootloader and licked it again. Then I flashed a complete stock ftf. But since I unlocked the bootloader I wasn't able to update ota anymore...
