CSR said AT&T has had customers with similar problems after software update. Some even incapable of making phone calls. Solution for them was a new SIM card or, in worst case, a trip to Best Buy to get Geek Squad to flash the same software.
For the wife, new 5G SIM card did not fix her issue IN THE STORE. I thought I was back in the ROM flashing business. But when we got home EVERYTHING WORKS! YEA!
For me, I got a new 5G SIM card and then installed the previously downloaded software update, both in the AT&T store. No issues.
