I have version BQC4. ¿Can i update with SS-G891AUCS2BQC2-to-S2BQD4-UP.zip ?

I just got an AT&T OTA Update (Security/Bug Fix) and ended up with QD4 after it was done...
Please Jimd1050 send the link for us to download.

Installed it from SD card and it automatically wiped and formated the phone. Not your fault, just havent had this happen in the past.

Don't think it'll update. You'll have to either find an update that from your current firmware or downgrade to a firmware and then upgrade from that firmware

Tried earlier this week and failed in the end. Used modified Odin provided in the mail.ru Cloud folder from the OP with a repackaged CSC (PIT removed by myself, but not the binary). I initially flashed without CSC at all only to find that CSC did not match that was required by the OTA package from QB2 to QC2, and that's why I tried it. Flashing wasn't the problem, but after that I wanted to do the OTA ASAP and booted into the stock recovery. For the first time, the recovery recognized a script and started to erase stuff (while doing the obligatory CSC installation, since the CSC package was just a disk image which got flashed into the cache partition, so the result didn't really surprise me). Since then the regular OTAs had worked as expected.
So basically you'd have to do a backup before doing Odin and downgrading to QB2. Theoretically there's a method lying around to avoid wiping after flashing CSC but at the end of the day, I didn't have to rely on my data from an unstable QC4 (an alpha-stage ROM according to 4PDA). And then you're good to go for OTAs.
So again for future problems, do read the update info on 4PDA and avoid anything that's marked unstable or at least supposedly unstable.

I have finally myself updated (my wife's) S7 Active to Nougat via Odin. By far, this is the smoothest procedure. Yes data (internal storage) was fully wiped, no problems with Network unlock status.
Updated OP with this note and reference.

It's just as same as any Odin flashing procedure, since it involves directly writing into the partitions in download mode, and by that even modified devices could go back to stock as long as the NAND is healthy (Odin/warranty flags are another question that has nothing to do with returning to stock firmware). Basically you download the 4-part firmware and get an Odin new enough for current devices (such as https://cloud.mail.ru/public/BGy7/gKs4xzhRE/ODIN-modified.zip), drag each part onto the respective field and wait up to 10 minutes for the MD5 check, plug in the phone in Download mode (be sure to have the driver installed!) and press start. It's nothing more than that.

I updated to QD4 four days ago and noticed poor battery life. I was on OA7 since its release and the battery could last me up to 2 days. Does anyone know any tweaks to make battery life better, or I will have to go back to OA7.
Thanks

I'm in the same boat although it's only been 24 hours and I know there's typically a lot of background processing going on in a new system (I think? Or is that just mumbo jumbo?). Anyhow, I'm going to give it a few days and see how it fares. As an example of battery decrease, I left the phone on in airplane mode and display off overnight starting with about 40% battery when I went to sleep and it died after I snoozed my alarm about 6 hours later. I left my old phone on as a backup because of my suspicions and, as usual (runnung Lineage 14.1 moto x play) it lost a few percent over night. Charging fully now and will monitor the discharge from a full state today to see how things pan out.

I'm running QD4 and have been for quite a while (got the actual AT&T OTA) - I run "MID" power saving mode and always have. Have never noticed any kind of performance hit using that mode! I charge up before heading to bed at night then throw it on the night stand at around 11:30 PM - when I get up at 8:00 AM, it shows around 97 - 98% battery after being in standby overnight, every night without fail. During the day, I use between 10 - 25%, depending on how much I do with it. I didn't do any tweaks either, for what it's worth! ???

Just received new update QE1. Anyone know if its just security patches? Hope this helps battery life. Thankfully I have not had the audio issue lately.

It appears to be a fairly big update, at least my S7 Active is chugging away on this one.

Hopefully AT&T posts what has changed soon - I wonder if our updates will be as periodic with the S8 Active rolling out. Still up in the air about the new design.

I have an awful problem and hope I can get some help. I can't get a consistent data connection after updating to nougat using the flashing method you guys use here. I use t-mobile as my carrier, and when I reboot my phone I will randomly lose my data connection and it will take hours (even days) to come back. It just happened again today and I am at my wits end. This never happened until I flashed nougat here. Everything else works just fine, but without a consistent data connection the phone feels pretty ****ty.
Any ideas? I've tried everything. Playing with different apn settings, using network operator to auto or manual search (which doesn't work, by the way). The whole time, I show a 3G/4G connection, but it's as though t-mobile is just refusing my connection.

what is the "network unlock status" you are referring to? I wonder if it is related to the awful network problems I am having with my phone. I am currently on QC4, updated manually via flashing in recovery.

Hey so I've been on the PL4 firmware since I found it back in around February. I've suddenly noticed that I've been not getting any OTA updates, as if AT&T is punishing me for getting my hands dirty and flashing all the updates before they were offical. Now I sit here on PL4 with the December 2016 security patch. Can I find the latest firmware and just manually update it from here?

Is QA7 the latest firmware?

Does anyone know if I can just flash the newest firmware G891AUCU2BQB2 right over the current PL4 version that I am running currently using Odin???
Wondering the same thing been stuck on PL4....

Well I fixed my problem, but doesn't explain why it is happening, and I'm not entirely sure if it was coincidence or what I did was really what fixed it. For over an entire day, my phone was showing that it was connected to the t-mobile network, with 4G signal strength and everything. But no data was able to be transferred. Was not an APN or network issue. I had to disable mobile data, reboot the phone with data disabled, let the phone boot back up, and then re-enable data. Somehow, that got it working. I disabled/enabled mobile data many times before that, but the key the last time was that I did a reboot with data disabled.

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but if you are, try what I did. Still frustrating this is even happening bc prior to the update I never had this problem.

I manually updated via sideloading (used a SD card), from QC2 to QD4. And a few days ago ATT pushed OTA to QE1. No issues here of any kind at this time. Battery life is great, way better than my Galaxy S5, even though ATT sent me 2 new batteries for S5.

Ive used Odin in the Past phones to do manual updates and had no issues either. I did have one time issue on S5 when OTA update had failed several times. So I went to Best Buy and Samsung representative updated my S5 from his laptop. Afterwards, all newer OTA updates never failed again.

So if you want the latest update or having issues with your phone, go to Best Buy and ask Samsung Rep to update your phone or try to resolve an issue. They have all the firmware's on their work laptops that they carry with them.
Call ahead to make sure that Samy Rep is at the store so you don't waste a trip.

Good luck.
