The upgrade path has gone BRA7 -> BRB5 -> BRC1

Samsung announced that the normal S7 variants are getting Oreo in mid-May, so I would think that it will be a CRE* build with one more security update (S2BRD*) coming out soon before the May Oreo release.
But on AT&T page last official update is BRB5, BRC1 not show, so they have to announce first BRC1 then the BRD* you say :rolleyes:

PD: Official AT&T page just put BRC1 as last firmware, we are closer

Check again. The ATT page has been updated to reflect BRC1 as the current official. However, they do sometimes allow upgrade from two different versions. So you may be able to upgrade from BRB5 and BRC1 if Oreo is the next release. it's not impossible that RD4 is the official. Just as the RC1 release is official in April for a version created in March, the May release may be created in April as an CRD* release. It's possible. I'm speculating and maybe just confusing the matter.

You are right it could be, and yes i saw AT&T update today to BRC1, maybe RD4 not official because if i upgrade now to BRC1, cant install Oreo because for now we just can install from BRB5 to RD4. I'm speculating too ;)

QB2 is a dead end for further updates.

QD4 is the latest full version available for download.

I would recommend to backup all your data, then install QD4 with odin (will wipe your phone completely):
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/BGy7/gKs4xzhRE/G891AUCS2BQD4_7.0_all.7z

Then go through the following updates: QD4 -> QF2 -> QG1 -> QH1 -> QJ4
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/BGy7/gKs4xzhRE/

I also think these updates will wipe your phone, at least they did for me when I installed via SD card in recovery mode. Can someone confirm this or clarify?

people trying out Oero, use the U2CRC7 or U2CRC8 these will be MUCH safer

using U3CRD1 , or U3CRD4 you need to be REALLY careful, as you are updating the bootloader too,
which if you get into a bootloop for whatever reason, you then cannot use ODIN to get out of it as they are all bootloader v2 .. and thus you will be stuck untill one becomes available !
(which is what all the people from the last page or so is now at)

I'm on RD4 so does that mean I can't downgrade? Or it's simply dangerous for me to downgrade at this point ?

I think it means you can't downgrade. If RD4 proves to be the official, then you have no worries. If not, you'll have to wait for an Oreo ROM to surface with the version 3 bootloader and that's on the upgradable path. Seems to happen a few times a year...

Lol oh well. If I brick it it's an excuse to get a s8 active haha.

So far it's stable. Just the activity zone main menu never displays the steps I walked for Samsung health. That's the only bug I always tend to see with the betas

ATT servers. See earlier posts in this thread about using command line tools to download. Eventually it will get loaded up onto the mail.ru cloud site made available by XDA user khaliullov who figured out how to download these updates from ATT.
