Hi,


Ive created a simple tool, which tries to find correct
full url of update zip for Sony Tablet S/P.
The process should take from 1s to 7min max.

There are two functions:
  • get URL+download - by manually typing update zip filename,
  • get URL+download [AUTOMATICALLY] - of current device firmware.

In order to successfully use auto function you must have proper region matching devices firmware.

Please post results, and very important!
- please post your new found zips urls here!
If you cant post in dev section, then feel free to send me a PM
with found urls :)

Hi condi, testing is ok, found US update lol.

Can I ask why ST is set to a max of ST004?

As I changed this higher and my updates were in ST006.

I could not find my ICS but oribably not there yet, but did find 0035.002 and 0042.002 in the ST006 folder.

Also noticed that 0035 was in 0005 folder
and 0042 was in 0006 folder

does this mean ICS should be in 0007 folder???

Or is that to logical :p

ST004 is (I think last) one for Japan region.

About your update - propably it would be in next content dir,
maybe 0007, but if not found, then propably you have wrong filename.

Thanks for testing, I'm glad it works :)

PS. I'm thinking about next version, with new function, which will get current devices update zip, maybe even without root, and no filename needed :)

This is the incr file:

awk: permission denied

grep: permission denied

rev: permission denied

rev: permission denied

cut: permission denied

write: Broken pipe

i forgot about missing busybox in non-rooted devices.
fixed version is up. please test it now :)

Really stupid question: I used your tool (I live in nz) and got a url and it downloaded signed-nbx03_033-ota-0042.002.zip file.
Here is the stupid question----now what do I do.

My device is unrooted. Will this give me the ICS udate for New Zealand.

Condi, I am truly impressed. the amount of time and effort spent on the tab is definitely worthwhile. why not add this feature into the aio tool? also, is there any further breakthrough with cwm or custom roms?

It finds the URL for current firmware. The one you found is 3.2.1R2 (kernel 10)
This is what I have :mad:

ICS will be something like signed-nbx03_033-ota-120510001.zip

Which uses incremental number instead of 0042.002 etc.

Year=12 Month=05 Day=10 001=Incremental

Please note that is NOT correct file name.

ICS is not out for NZ yet, but should be by the end of month, guessing 31.05.12

WORKS NOW, thanks from all non-root users :).

Now every1 can do this, it is SIMPLE then post the URL and we can create a MASTER list for everyone on XDA :D

The feature will be added to AiO, after 31. may. For now I want it to be separate module, easy to use, and get as much of ICS EU update urls as I can :) Dont know what will future bring to us ;)

Yeah thats what I wanted to achieve :)
few more days, and EU ICS will arrive :)..

Just added when I updated "updates.txt" on page one lol. List is now huge

Here is the list so far. All links are one page one post 2, attached 'updates.txt'. All of these have some updates i.e 3.2.1 or 3.2. Not many have ICS. Please help to fill in any X's or add ICS links. This has taken a wee bit of time :p

is this ICS? if it isn´t can I try to downgrade and then preroot before ICS again?

Is this flashable via recovery?

That is US ics, if you are allready unrooted ics, then for now, you wont be able to root. That includes downgrading then rooting. You are on tbe waiting list like many others and similar to ne with kernel 10.

That rom is flashable also but for you it will fail as you allready have that version
