1. you make a gold card (see unlockr.com) (a hacked sd card)
2. you run a stock rom (see www.shipped-roms/shipped/Legend)

Worked like a charm. Vodafone branding is where the sun dont shine and I am typing this from my unbranded Legend now. Thanks!

HI, i read this thred:

one guy said something: Maybe you're on windows and you're not renaming the file to just "update" instead of "update.zip"

On mine I put two copies of the file on my sdcard: update and update.zip
I got the first message about the cache also but it didn't seem to mean anything. Update applied successfully.

That's how I just updated mine:
two files in the root:
update
update.zip
downloaded from the first post, boot in recovery mode, and apply the update.
