My girlfriend won an invite for the OnePlus One I believe. She signed up for me and legitimately has no clue about phones haha. But that one is certainly an intruiging option if I can get my hands on it.

As for that Huawei monstrosity, why would anyone buy that hahah

Its probably a 16gb model....which without ext sd support is pretty much useless.

If its a 64gb then lucky you!

Just ordered a Nexus 5 for $150. Glass cracked digitizer still intact. Fully functional, clean imei. Ordered the glass for $12.99. Throwing my Note 2 on Ebay after repair. Should get back what I spent on it.

You may be able to use it on tmo. But you might want to check out how to activate the band tmo uses. Otherwise, it may drop to 2g. Its not that our phone is not capable. But the band needs to be activated. There is a thread for it under att note 2. I see I posted at the end of thread. Sorry. This was reply to the unlocked post on tmo.

If the U.S government has confidence in Samsung Knox products plus Chainfire's worries about future android updates with root. Samsung devices could be very difficult to crack open.

Tizen could be the top os in the future cause its written with html5 and is also open source. Android uses java which is a language slowly dying out. Samsung won't be the only one pushing Tizen devices out. Tizen os has a lot of supporters.

Okay..Maybe not the near future. Maybe not Tizen. Google may turn their Android os into a hybrid of html5 and java coding. Idk. They say html5 will be the standard for coding in the future. It's just speculation from what I'm reading.

I'm not so sure HTML5 will overtake Java anytime soon. Sure, some Android apps are just HTML5 web apps, but Java is a bit more dynamic.

Tizen is interesting, I just don't get it's targeted audience

Now that the Note 4/Note Edge have been announced has anyone decided to upgrade to either?

I'm still not sure, with all the issues with the locked bootloaders (carrier crap I know), I think I'm siding with Nexus. Couldn't imagine myself using a TW phone.

I'm upgrading to the 4 from my 2. As long as I can root and install LuckyPatcher I'll be happy. Oh and I love TW. :)

Well, I've fallen in love with the new Moto X (v2). I'll probably still wait for the new Nexus gets revealed before buying anything. But the Moto seems to be my next phone :fingers-crossed:

Note 2 I317 Giving up? Maybe. Edge or Nex 6?

gotta say, loved my Note 2, especially with all the devs, and people for that matter. I am think of the upgrade situation and contemplating Note 4 Edge, or Nexus 6. Anyone with an opinion, rap it at me please. I love the Battery removal of the Samsung, but really like the dual facing speakers/battery life of the Nexus. What do you guys think?

That's a question you'll have to answer yourself. Do you want bootloader unlocked and tons of custom Roms. Go with a Nexus 6. Do you like the ir blaster, s-pen, and touchwiz features. Go with Note Edge.

Get the Tmobile Note 4. Works perfect on AT&T and you get all the ROMs and customization of the nexus. I picked up the AT&T model on contract then sold it that same day on Craigslist for $800 and bought the T-Mobile version at full price. Using it on AT&T right now no problems.

Still have my note 2 though. It's such a great device to tinker with I couldn't ditch it. I figure I have to at least get CM 12 on it and see how it does before I sell it.

As for the duel facing speakers, do you really watch many videos, play games, or listen to music on your phone w/o headphones. I mean maybe before chrome cast it would have been worth it, but now I just through it up on a TV, almost everyone I know has one. Just my $0.2 on the speakers.

I'll be getting the Note 4 as my daily driver soon. Want to try out the Samsung Occulus rift sometime in the future and that quad HD screen will be useful. Tried the vr cardboard thing..it's not bad. Recommend giving it a try. There's a few apps in the Playstore and 3d movies you can watch on youtube. It's around $5 bucks on ebay.
Still have my One plus One as my play device/backup phone.

I am receiving my Nexus 6 tomorrow and I gave my Note 2 to my wife. I enjoyed everyone's hard work on roms and helping others when needed. I have learnt allot and am excited to learn the way of SHAMU! Thanks again everyone!-------SHREK---------

As soon as Google sends me my project Fi invite, it's going to be time to turn the Note 2 into a mini-tablet for the kids to play with.

But, you know, Google. So it may be a while. Either way I'll probably end up with a Nexus 6 next, unless I wait long enough and the Note 5 blows me away.
