Stick with your GN2!! Played with the S4 feels really cheap to me. But if you need a smaller screen for one handed use go for it. Especially if you have smaller hands!! I can use my GN2 with one hand no problem:p. Thanx to large thumbs!! Do it all the time when I'm stuck in traffic, on these L.A.freeways...

Just my 2¢®

Actually I had used the S4 for the last 2 days. Nice phone, benchmark king. Games that played were smooth. 1080p screen makes a difference in Web and games.

In the end I won't be moving forward with an S4 purchase because even though it was easier to one hand, it just felt too small now.
Also battery life isn't even close. I know GSMArena gave it a score that was within 6 hours of the Note 2, but real world use it felt it drained power 50% faster than the Note 2. There were other things but those were the biggest.

So Note 3 I will wait for you!

I love my GN2. I first bought it in December 2012 and after a week or two I switched for the IP5 like an idiot. Then after another week I was looking for a GN2. When I had the IP5 it was boring. I didn't want to watch movies browse or do anything on it. Just text and answer calls. After using a massive 5.5 screen you can never settle for something below 5.0. I'm back with my GN2 and just love the fact you can customize a lot of things without rooting/flashing ROM. Its truly a phone for individuals who want more.

Agreed it is an interesting phone. If the Note gets just too big with the Note 3 this might be what to get next. Only drawback is no spen.

Note 3 Details

This will probably get lost here, but I didn't want to make a thread for just this.

I was at my local Best Buy checking out the Samsung kiosk they just setup; When I was introduced to the regional manager for Samsung, who was there teaching the Best Buy people that were manning the kiosk selling point details.

He tried REALLY hard on me to get me to pick up an S4 (still thinking about it), but I explained that my main love for my Note 2 is that is doubles as my in car GPS and was very easy for me to select tracks and channels while driving (due to the large screen size).

He said he totally understood (having a Note 2 himself) and that I should wait until later this year for the Note 3.
Here are the details that I got:

1.) Note 3 will be out towards the end of the 3rd quarter
2.) Note 3 will have a 6" screen BUT keep the same footprint as the Note 2 (They are eliminating most of the bezel).
3.) The features that are in the S4 will all be in the Note 3, plus a few that he couldn't talk about yet.
4.) The CPU will most likely be a 2ghz. (I am saying this because of his explanation of the S4 quad and octo CPU - he said that the Note 3 will "make waves")

I know it isn't much, but it was enough to make me want to just wait for the Note 3.

Oh, and he also explained:

1.) The US S4 only got the quad because of the lack of LTE in the octo.
2.) The Octo is really 2 CPUs, one clocked at 1.9ghz and the other at 1.2ghz.

I didn't know that and just thought I would share.

The Octa is a real 8 cores CPU with no hardware restrictions to run 8 cores at a time. It is a misconception to think it is two set of Cpu. Yes they run at different clock and not together for the moment but only the software restrict the CPU to run the 8 cores together. A future upgrade will allow it.

BTW: The Note 3 will also be a 8 cores big LITTLE configuration

I bought the wife a galaxy s4 and it is a nice phone, but i just love my Note 2 way too much for the little speed difference you get with the s4. Currently running Liquid Smooth v2.4 on my Note 2 and it is fast enough.

But i will agree that the 1080p screen on s4 is crazy good.

I just thought I'd share... I've spent the last week with the S4 and have just listed it up on Swappa. The screen was absolutely beautiful, the size took a little getting used to (coming from the larger GN2) and the camera took some really fantastic pictures, but in the end battery life is turning me back to my GN2. No matter how I tried to optimize it, that screen just completely eats battery.

My GN2 was always bulletproof for me, so I'm glad I kept it just in case. I'll check out the GN3 when it comes out, but I don't really want to go bigger than the GN2.

Just my 2 cents.

Sold my Note 2 to fund Galaxy S4. I am definitely missing my Note 2. For some reason Galaxy S4 feels too small. Got a lot of looks when using the Note 2 as a phone but I think in the end the screen size and S-pen is what I miss about it.

Note 2 is a pivotal device...
And I feel that the market demand for bigger devices may reach a critical mass this year..

Other builders are coming in droves to compete...and sales may lean toward a smaller device as resolution and "at will" DPI options become mainstream..

6" devices are massive by mobile phone specs...IMHO ....and Samsung among others will clearly exercise care in the next generation of phones...in order to safety net the market, opting for high performance with a pocket sized balance ....IMHO...g

Sony Z ultra

Anybody waiting to see the Sony Z ultra?
I got the note for the large screen and pen... we will have some competition...
For me the question will be (I think): will it fit in a belt holder?

I love my Note ll but at times I wish I had a little smaller screen. I've held the S4 and it's perfect. Great for 1 handed use.
