I have the option to trade for a htc one..

I don't think I can do it though, the battery life alone would annoy the hell out of me. Nice build quality though, but I can't bring myself to do it

Here's the thing with build quality. Unless you rock the device naked, it won't matter because most people slap on a plastic case anyway. I love the build quality too don't get me wrong but I'm the type to put a case on it anyway

I had the HTC one (3 times) and I can tell you that its an incredible phone, really incredible. The display on that thing is out of this world and so are the speakers. But to me the Note 2 is better, the battery life on it and tge features like pop up browser and multiwindow are just too good.

Everything I have read about that phone just sounds amazing. However, for me, the SPen has almost become a necessity and it is hard for me to imagine having a device without it, whether its a phone or a tablet. Not to mention, I am off cycle on my upgrades, so I will stick to my Note 2, but I find this phone so fast and great already, that its not an issue.

Exactly. Put it this way. If you switch to the HTC one, youre going to love it. But after a while youre going to miss the note 2 so bad because of its functionality and amazing battery life plus the bigger display.

Wanting to upgrade to bigger phone

Hey there!

So I'm currently on the HTC One X, and I'm due for my upgrade. I have always been interested in the Note 2, but to be honest, I didn't want to spend the extra $100 bucks. Now having the HTC One X for two years, I'm a firm believer in paying for what you want, and not settling.

My question is, I have been reading that the Note 3 will be coming out soon. And I'm seriously considering the Note 2 right now. In your opinion(all of your opinions), is the Note 2 going to be a big enough of an upgrade over the HTC One X to satisfy me, or will I be kicking myself that I didn't wait for the Note 3? .. There isn't really anything stopping me from waiting, other than impatience ( which I'm horrible with )..

An addition to this question would be price. I know that the Note 2 is still $299 ($249 at certain locations), is this price going to be the new price for the Note 3, or will it be more?

One more question, I'm very sorry. I have also been reading that the ATT versions of the SGS4 and the Note 3 will be bootloader locked. is this only preventing me from using custom ROMS? Will I still be able to root and debloat etc etc?

Thank you all so much for your replies and any info that you may have. I really appreciate it!

If the Note 3 camera doesn't have XENON FLASH., Not this LED crap. I'll either stick with note 2 or get HTC one 6"

I have a note2 and I love it but will be getting the note 3 if.that says anything?
Honestly with the 3 right around the corner I would wait and get it..odds are.it will be more.than the 2 but worth it.

As.for locked bootloaders I'm in.canada and thankfully haven't had to.deal with it yet.

The more I look at the rumour mill on the note 3, the more likely I will forgo upgrading/switching to it. Only going to 5.7 inches when the mega is out there with 6.3 inches doesn't make much sense to me.

One of my employees has the S4 and as an overall package it is not an upgrade to the note 2. Lot of the note 2 features are superior to the s4 and from my take of the note 3 rumours, it will only be a slightly better, bigger S4. Not a bad thing at all, just not enough of an upgrade to warrant a change.

Don't get me wrong, odds are that I will have one on launch but I am definitely looking at Sept 4th with great anticipation to be 'wowed'.

The mega is horrible...

Poor specs and a bad display.

Yeah it's big, but it sucks

Yes, not interested in the Mega. Just stating it has a 6.3 screen which would be perfect size for the next note iteration.. The rumoured .18 increase from the note 3 is just not enough of an increase (regardless of the processor and other upgrades). Note 2 is an outstanding phone and the rumours just don't lead me to believe the note 3 is going to be that much of a real world usage improvement. Thankfully they are just rumours and there is hope that it will be a big step up. Guess we will know on the 4th.

See people wanting to go much bigger are a niche and is already a niche device, they don't want to alienate the majority of the notes fanbase just for a small number who want much larger..

and, 6.3 inches will not fit in pants pockets, the way the current one does...in this case, bigger is NOT better..
Was just at AT&T store, the mega fit in my pocket just fine. Don't know how it would have went if I had been able to sit down but think it would be doable.

Fully agree.. I'm happy with the current size tbh
Accidentally thanked you but that is OK as you probably deserve one somewhere along the line.

To me, they haven't reached the threshold on size for the note series. Doesn't have to be the same size as the Mega but 6 inches would be really good.

They have to think about what the max for most people is though..

The majority of people feel the note 2 is already huge.
