Had to root. Was kinda scared about that Knox stuff but did it anyway as I can't stay with stock. Coming from the Nexus 4. The s features are cool but right now I'm using CM11, like using giant Nexus with a better camera. Like having the removable battery/expandable storage and having more storage space then a N4 without adding the MicroSD. The amoled screen is nice too.

Cuz... don't hold back it will give you stomach ulcers. ..heh, heh.

Ive loved HTC since the Ipaq. And as you all know (specially from my sig) i've modded roms for almost all the HTC phones. The DNA was a let down because Verizon discontinued it 3 months after release. So i jumped on the Note bandwagon for resale reasons. I wanted the OG One, but Verizon took so long to release it, it was pointless buying it almost a year after it's outing. Now that the M8 has everything I want, i'm going back to HTC. I love the big screen on the Note 3, but the bugs, even at my level of development can't be fixed. So time to go back to Sense and the easily fixable bugs of High Tech Computers. OH, and i frickin hate the help menu that Sammy has on the phones. I'm tired of getting asked, "ARE YOU SURE" everytime i do anything on this phone. And I really don't appreciate Sammy's , Microsoft approach to it's phones. If i want to use Sammy Search and SVoice, then let me decide, don't make it so that i "HAVE" to use it. I actually like Google Now. So i should be able to make that a short cut. S-Finder is pointless piece of crap.

Yeah man the N3 is blastin!!!
I traded up from the s4... my wife still has hers.

I would make the purchase again on a do over...

I currently have a jump upgrade. I have an S4. Has anybody switched from an S4 to a Note 3? If so, was there a noticeable difference in performance and battery life?

I'm on a Nexus 5. Is the Note 3 still a decent choice? I'd get the HTC One, but I want a larger screen...

I know the Note 4 is going to be out in a few months, but I've got to get something other than the Nexus. I'm on the original Jump plan, and haven't used any Jumps yet. Eligible to Jump tomorrow! Thoughts?

I like Note 3. It's fast. I can't really complain about anything with it, really. Incredible battery life..

Hey how's it going guys just had a question wondering if someone could help. What's these two arrows on the top of my status bar?

Honestly, I'm not even sure. I've never come across them even when making themes. It looks like the same arrows they use for incoming/outgoing calls so it may be related to phone calls.

Are you using a rom?

Hey thank you for the reply. I was on stock rom but I realized this only happened when i flashed the aurora kernel. But I went back to the regular kernel now because I was still having poor battery life.

My issue is that I'm hoping AOSP stability gets a lot better. Feeling kind of tired of the hot phone, and was getting tired of the phone rebooting, giving CM11 another chance with a 3rd party kernel. Watching that conference made me want to flash "vanilla" back. Lol. I'm a ROM/kernel flasher, but I need stability, but at the same time I can't stick with TW for the life of this phone. I don't hate it but I can't stick with just that. Its good to be off of that Nexus 4 with it's limited storage and shorter battery life. But the ROMs for that things, that's one of its best features if not its best feature. Feels like an iPhone when I hold it now. Lol

So it wasn't just me that experiences the random reboot on CM11 M7.

I had stuck with TouchWiz-based ROMs ever since I got my Note 3 in February, but finally gave in and flashed CM11 M7 last week. I have to say, CM11 makes the phone feels much, much snappier and faster. I had the Menu button remapped to Recent Apps on both TouchWiz (even newest NF1) and CM11, and pressing this button opens the app switcher instantly on CM11 whereas it takes at least 2-3 sec before this screen would appear on TouchWiz. Scrolling in Chrome, Spotify and Play Music is noticeably smoother as well. The Camera app launches instantly on CM11 as opposed to a few seconds of black screen in TouchWiz.

Asides from the random reboots that I can't reproduce, my phone doesn't get hot and battery life is actually better than TouchWiz (without the Power Saving activated).

Damn, we have the note 4 on the horizon... What is everybody thinking!?
A. Jump on the next big thing, like the best 'galaxy' note 4 like we've been doing since galaxy 2, or...
B. Wait to see what's on the horizon. Like, I know Sony has some new shiz coming in the form of z3. And what about a cheap one plus 2!? I know I'm leaving a lot out here..

What are you all thinking?

I would've made a new thread asking this in more detail within the General section BUT I'm positive I would be shot down and redirected to this thread.

You feel battery life is BETTER with cm?

It's been a while since I've been on temasek. Gonna have to play around one day soon! And most definitely it's faster than touch wizzzz but my issue was I need a battery to last mad awake times. I listen to Spotify all day at work.
Thanks for the heads up.

Plus lbxmobbin is working on a cm based miui too!
