How did you retain Sero? I was told that to retain sero I had to do my upgrades through sprint.
I'd like to know this too. I had to pay the full $299 upgrade price through Sprint to get my Note 2 and stay on SERO.
I think he said he ordered it, picked some random plan and when he physically got it, he activated over the phone onto his SERO acct.

Went to Radioshack today, they couldn't access my SERO acct through their computer. I may try the amazon approach, but I want to hear about one more person doing it.

Since sprints policy is that you can change your plan at anytime, I guess it makes sense. Also too, I thought I remember some time ago, a rep changed my plan over the phone to a non SERO plan to do something to my account and then switched it back. I'm not positive about that though.

So I'm contemplating the One Up and getting the Note 3 but I would wait if I knew there was something better on the horizon. I still have 8 months left on my Evo LTE contract but I would love to upgrade as it's just getting laggy and pissing me off.. I tested out the Note 3 last night and I like it but I just am such a HTC fanboy I have a hard time wanting to buy a samsung. I definitely don't want a motorola anything either but I would be open to a Sony or other option if it were as good or better. I read the reviews on the HTC one max and it sounded like it wasn't the greatest compared to the note 3 but it's hard to believe considering the one x is basically the mini version of it.

My vision is getting pretty bad so I for sure want the bigger screen but what do you guys think? Is there something better around the corner? I don't mind waiting a couple months but by Christmas I would hope to have a new toy

Thanks for your comments and or recommendations!

I've played with the Samsung Galaxy Mega a few times and I compare it to my Note 3 and it isn't even close. The slowness and glitchiness of the Mega compares to the S2. As far as the One Max, it is garbage also. Honestly nothing compares to the Note 3

After talking to several other people that's the conclusion I'm coming to as well. Thanks for your comments :D

The S3 did SVDO, but the I think the S4 (and other later phones) were SVLTE only. I've read some say the Note 3 will also do SVLTE. Future phones, such as tri-band models, may also drop SVLTE.

SERO has been gone since 2008. It was Unlimited Data/450 talk for $30 and Unlimited/1250 for $50. I found in those days they offered an extra 1000 min/mo for $10. Upgrading to a newer phone requires SERO Premium which added $10 + $10 data fee. Now they have the Everything Plus suite at sprint.com/everythingplus .

I don't know where to post this comment, so I'll do it here. I am so upset and angry right now! I just got the phone a few hours ago and got root in without Knox tripping. I installed twrp via odin and f'ed myself concerning Knox. I was so damn careful, reading many posts before doing anything. I don't know where I went wrong. I'm sure a lot of people have 0x1+ so I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not the only one. Time to drown my anger/frustration/sorrows with alcohol!

Are you serious right now? You obviously didn't read the FAQ where it CLEARLY said that flashing recovery/ROMs still trip the Knox flag. The root workaround is simply..just for rooting the phone which in most cases is good enough given that Xposed is quickly becoming very popular as a great way to customize your phone without having to give up any stock stuff if you cared.

Oh well I guess the lesson learned is to read the FAQ entirely before flashing. This is why Samsung is slowly turning into Apple in being a tough cookie for customization.

No, quite honestly, the past few days I've been reading the forum, I didn't see the fact you stated. I am not blaming anyone for my misfortune. I am saying that the threads I read, I was under the impression that it was safe. I can't figure out what way to say this and not upset anyone but for all the things I read, I didn't see this. I just hope that things will be eventually discovered on how to do more things without tripping Knox. It's not the end of the world, I suppose. I didn't brick my new phone. All this just because I wanted to flash the hotspot. Grr!

I upgraded from the S4 to this Note 3. I have been more than happy with this switch. The S4 really needed 3gb of RAM instead of the 2gb it has. The Note 3 is easily the best phone I have ever owned, but I am annoyed by how easy it is to hit the power button. I seem to do that quite a bit by accident.

I too switched from s4 to n3, but besides the bigger screen size, I don't notice much else of a difference. Well yeah it has a stylus you can putz around with and the speaker is a little louder. The selection of cases so far is dismal. I haven't found anything I'm happy with yet. I wish speck made a candyshell grip case for this phone. That was my favorite with my s4.

Try the Ballistic SG series. Been on this phone since day one. Rugged as heck, but doesn't provide screen protection. That and a private sector insurance plan for one-half the price of the retailer or provider plans, allows me to get my phone repaired at a local facility, and I'm happy for my needs. I don't worry about knox, and I'll never have to send my phone to Sammy or Sprint for repairs.
