The Development threads for the ATT Note 3, have tumble weeds blowing, and crickets chirping.

Really sucks, that such an awesome device like the Galaxy Note 3, with a locked firmware, just like my ATT S4 on MF3

I was thinking of upgrading to the Note 3, from my S4, since I got screwed being on MF3, but seems the Note 3 is in no better shape than the S4 in that regard ?

MOD EDIT: Profanity is unacceptable on this site and has been removed

Good point. My S4 even though locked, is rooted, and I run Wannam Xposed Framework + Nova Launcher + Axis Icons, and several other .apk's, to really customize it.

But with ROM's, you can get kernels for better battery life, and smoother / faster performance.

A room is pointless on this thing I get around 17 hours or of a charge with 5 hours of media usage watching videos and listening to music and 4 hours of screen on time normal usage is even better and the As far as being smooth I personally haven't experienced any lag really the phone is really smooth and fast right out of the box no need for all of the other stuff

What? The note 3 is locked? Is this just a temporary thing or will there be a fix soon? I was just about to buy one of these! Looks like I might have to reconsider the Nexus 5.

Yep, ATT are being real douche bags lately. Just like my S4 running MF3 firmware, making the S4 locked down tight, with no Recovery allowed and little hope someone will break it.

The Note 3, looks to be the same. Doubtful we'll see a real Recovery on it. Maybe Safestrap at best.

So no custom kernels :(

Seems to be ATT's fault, not Samsung.

I actually like ATT service here in Chicago, good price, better than T-Mobile network for me, but for them to start locking down their phones hard all of a sudden is a new thing. I had the ATT Note 2 last year, and it was rootable, and I had custom Recovery with ROM's. Same with my ATT Galaxy S2, was open to Recoveries.

But now ATT locked the S4 in a firmware update a few months ago, screwed that great phone up, and now out of the box the Note 3 seems to have a hard lock on it, with no true root and no custom Recovery option available, and no idea if anyone will be able to crack it ?

Don't give up hope folks. There are a lot of good devs working on this. They have lives too though so it will take time. If we had a way to guarantee pledges I'm sure that would help.

X posed framework, wanam, flash Gordon app, just look thru the themes section of the forum for this device and look through the threads in there you will be surprised as to what you may see hiding in there lol

I just checked the Verizon Note 3 Development threads, and wow, they actually have some nice ROM's going on in there.

Checked the ATT Note 3 Development thread = :crying: Tumble weeds blowing, and crickets chirping, NOTHING going on.

I thought a Verizon phone would more locked down, and harder to crack than an ATT phone ? When did this change, where Verizon is developer friendly over ATT ?

The only difference between the two is that the ATT model is SElinux enforcing while the Verizon model is not. This means that hashcode has gotten his safestrap recovery working on the Verizon model but is still looking for a way to bypass the enforcements on our model.
