And all I'm saying is things take time. By development I mean progress. We have a solid way to root. Themed apps. Hard brick recovery method. Things are crazing along just fine. My last 2 phones from att were same way. Slow at first then right about the six month marker or so it popped off. I'm guessing this phone will b same way

Not if the ATT Note 3, follows the ATT S4. Six months later and it's gotten worse on the S4. At least at launch and first few months the S4 was rootable with custom Recoveries installed easily. Now with MF3 and MJ9 firmwares, the S4 is super locked down, no Recovery whatsoever, it's locked down like a nuclear sub.

I had the ATT Note 2, and CleanROM was available almost from day one, and when the Note 2 was two months old, like the Note 3 is now, the N2 had tons of ROM's, custom kernels, themes, etc... pages and pages in the development thread back then.

Look at the ATT Note 3 development thread now :crying: It is EMPTY, NOTHING. I don't see this changing any time soon, but hopefully I am wrong, and some smart XDA'ers can find an exploit and crack the bootloader.

Look out for safe strap .. It came out for Verizon and it should be available for att within the next few days so hopefully that'll get things rolling.

Ultimately Samsung is to blame since they cave in to ATT. They should just too bad.. you wanna carry the device on your network it comes unlocked. Samsung is the new apple

Samsung isnt the new apple lol. Apple tells the carrier what to do lol, while samsung listens to the carrier lol....

I'm going back to the LG G2 or selling this and nexus 5 I'm not as impressed with this phone as I thought I would be. And to top it off it has a chasity belt on..

I had the G2 before this phone and I haven't thought about it since. That phone was solid but something was missing from it that I can't really pinpoint. I think I missed am amoled screen too.

And the camera was mostly awful, I can't understand why it gets praised so much. Bright day shots were very good. Go to night or any low lit situation and it struggled mightily. More than the average phone camera. Moving objects were very hard to capture with it as well. And video recording was a joke with the constant focusing.

To each their own but I love this phone with custom roms or not.

Yeah I was actually thinking about picking up a Nexus 5 just as a backup phone to my Note 3 and to tinker with. But the Note 3 will be my daily driver, I love it.

If you guys get bored and have some money to burn download Next Launcher. So many ways to customize and should keep you busy for a little while

I agree it's frustrating that i own this device and yet they have locked me out of modifying it as I want but I love the S-Pen functionality and although I do miss some of the CyanogenMod tweaks I've enjoyed on previous phones, they never had any S-Pen integration due to it's proprietary nature. I have rooted the phone but I'm still happy after over a month with the stock ROM with root. Surprisingly, I have been a Nova Launcher user, but I've stuck with TouchWiz so far. I do miss the 220-240 dpi setting which I can change but it messes up TouchWiz so I have left it alone. It seems to work fine with Nova Launcher but I haven't felt the urge to go back yet. Overall it's big, fast, and beautiful. Now if Otterbox would make the darned Defender Cases in something other than Black, I'd be a happy man. :D :good:

Yep, ATT are being real douche bags lately. Just like my S4 running MF3 firmware, making the S4 locked down tight, with no Recovery allowed and little hope someone will break it.

The Note 3, looks to be the same. Doubtful we'll see a real Recovery on it. Maybe Safestrap at best.

So no custom kernels :(

Use safestrap. You will have cwm, and the ability to flash custies.
