Not getting any error message it just says "cannot load recovery.img"
I have tried with and without the .img and always the same?
Tried going through the whole process again on my laptop incase I had missed something but exactly the same.
When I unlock it I follow the onscreen instructions and at the end it says its complete before it reboots. Then I turn on usb debugging again and reboot bootloader all ok but won't let me load the new recovery?
Normally I would just say it wasn't meant to be and leave as it is but I wont be beaten on this so I'm purposely not installing anything on it till its done. Any ideas apart from bringing it round yours lol ;-)

Wait... are you actually typing recovery.img? If so, I would double check to make sure your recovery image is actually named recovery.img because that's the actual image file you want to flash to the recovery.

For an example, if the recovery image is titled Rouge_Recovery_to_Awesomeness.img then you MUST type that into the commend prompt as fastboot flash recovery Rouge_Recovery_to_Awesomeness.img, or rename the file to just recovery and do it again, otherwise you will get that error message.

No I tried "fastboot flash recovery recovery-tiamat-r4c-100611-1150-cwm.img" and that didn't work so I renamed the file "recovery.img" and that didn't work either. I have tried both files with and without the. img at the end too in fastboot and the file itself but no joy just "cannot load" which is what is annoying as surely if I got the file name wrong the it would say something like incorrect file or no file of that name?

Sod it, im getting on my bike and coming to you lol
Thank you for spending your time with this though and if we get through this I'll owe you one :-D

Sorry, I've been tied up and scsa20 has been doing a fantastic job walking you through this...just wondering if perhaps the recovery file you have downloaded could be corrupt or incomplete. What else could be giving you that "cannot load" error, if in fact you have successfully unlocked? It sounds like you are doing all the right things...

@scsa20, you are so right in your comments...

Do you see anything in the instructions for step #4 that could be leading to fastyan's problem loading the recovery file?

The instructions looks good, I'm going to be helping out fastyan via msn once he gets some free time (I can't go to bed yet until these dry wall people show up so more likely I'll be up when he gets free).

That's one of the great things about this forum...people like you are so ready to help others.

Good luck with your drywall!

So we were able to get the recovery flashed and got him all rooted up.

And drywall still not fixed, guy thought it was a small crack, he got misinformed so he's coming back out next week >_>
What was the solution to the recovery mystery? Diablo2224 thought it was a link to an old recovery version. If that's it I need to check my link. I hate to getpeople screwed up with something like that.

On the other topic, home renovation is less than fun...I've spent much of this summer in the thick of it., so I hope you make out ok.

I also think it just has to do with the way you name the recovery img file/fastboot command.

This command: fastboot flash recovery recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img

VS.

This command: fastboot flash recovery recovery-solarnz-100611-1150.img

The second way would be the correct way per the CWM R4c thread by solarnz. It seems to work just fine on my end while using this exact name setup. That's the only reason why I think the CWM "can't install" problems are happening. ;)

Not sure what excatly was happening but when I remoted in and confirmed it was in the bootloader, I typed in the command, it writtent the recovery image to the recovery partition, rebooted it and he was able to put it into the recovery and flash the root system files so all is good now.

I'm changing the name of the file now.

Can anybody explain benefit of environment variables?
I have not set it and my adb is working fine.
actually after installing platform-tool I have created a .zip and I extract it anywhere whenever I restore my computer(acronis restore) and it works fine(Touchwood). No EV set anywhere.
