Question Over Sharpen photos

Search This thread
Great find! On which subreddit?
It would be interesting to post it on the official Telegram channel as other people are possibly looking for such a file and there is very little info on the P7P there.
I would have no idea, I stumbled on it after hours of looking. I've attached the file

If would seem this thread is all but dead - but I'm still not seeing that an official Gcam was ever released for the Pixel 7 Pro. Any idea if that is still in the works?

The builds by Skyking on Telegram are good
That's what I'm using currently and it does the job. I don't mean to sound demanding or ungrateful because I recognize all the work that goes into these configs- I just figured across the last 5 months there'd be an "official" release by now that supports all features such as Cinematic video, macro mode, etc. I'll stay patient and will be on the lookout. Thanks for the reply.

There is no such thing as an "official" Gcam, and there never was.

The official Gcam would be technically the Google camera, aka, the stock camera on the Pixel devices.

OK.. sure - but there was enough context provided that surely you know what I meant by the word "official". How's this wording instead: "a stable and maintained, fully-featured Gcam build dedicated to the Pixel Pro 7."

Currently, the Downloads page for the Pixel 7 Pro states: "Note: Only GCam 8.6 and above works on the 7/7 Pro. As of November 2022, if using BSG versions, you need to go to GCam settings » Configuration of modes » select the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro interface

The download page states that because back in October/November BSG still didn't have the Gcam version taken from the 7 series, so technically speaking it wasn't fully compatible. At a later point, when the Gcam got updated to 8.7, it worked out of the box.

Also, that "stable and maintained" is never gonna happen out of the box. In order for most of the stuff to work "properly", it needs a custom configuration. You never use a Gcam without a custom configuration, otherwise, it's pointless.

Those "features" that Pixel 7's stock camera has, might never come to Gcam because certain stuff is encrypted by Google and can't be "added" to the Gcam.
