does anyone use over the ear headphones with your fascinate. i would like to get some for work cuz ear buds start hurting after awhile and i think that over the ear would be better suited for long periods of time. anyone with any some input would be very helpful. i dont need anything fancy or expensive seeing that i am a auto tech, so they will get dirty. if there is one with a mic that works with our phones would be nice too.

thanks people

I've used some fairly large headphones without many problems. If you go high end you'll probably want a portable amp, but I don't think you're looking to spend major $.

Circumaural (covers the entire ear):

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD...JSQC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300344287&sr=8-1

Pretty comfy and won't break the bank.

Supra-aural (sits ontop of the ear):

http://www.amazon.com/Koss-PortaPro-Headphones-with-Case/dp/B00001P4ZH/ref=pd_cp_e_3

These may stay on your noggin' a little better than the previous model

http://www.amazon.com/Grado-iGrado-Headphones/dp/B000KN0YEY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1300344479&sr=8-5

getting a little pricey, but sound is great and they hang onto your ears/head pretty well. Comfy too.

edit: a great place to look for headphone reviews will be headroom (http://www.headphone.com/) you can sort by your price range and see what others have to say..

good luck!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0D8G9NM97BDWJVRCPFV9 .... do it

All hype aside , these are some of the best headphones i have ever heard , and i have had the pleasure of working in some of the best studios in the country . I know that they just seem like something thats "in" right now , but dont let that fool you ... its so much more than that . Expensive? Yes. But if youre lucky you can find some on craigslist for around $100 . I have three pair , and one of the cables that comes with it has an inline mic .

Dont let the fad fool you , these things are legit .

you obviously have no real world experience ..not trying to be rude . but thats just insane . If you buy the Solos then youd be correct. The studios are another world entirely .
If I walked into a studio and noticed they were using these headphones I'd take my business else where.

I've had the pleasure of listening to some of the most high end headphones going -- to say these are some of the 'best' is just ridiculous.

You have your opinion, and I have mine.

edit: besides, the OP asked for lower end cheapy cans -- your $300 cans don't quite fit the bill here.

You're correct with the OP , i didnt see the nothing fancy or expensive , so my apologies there. and yes , everyone is entitled to their own opinion and style . However , i did say you could hop on craigslist in most areas and get them for considerably less .

In the end , i guess it comes down to taste and what your're doing .

http://www.amazon.com/RF-MAB2-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/tech-data/B002V5OYHC

I use this pair from Rocketfish. I bought them for like $70 to use for Call of Duty on my PS3, but are now using them for my phone. It's listed as $59.99 on amazon now.

They are the only bluetooth set that I've found that I'm able to use for calls and music and the buttons all work.
The battery life is pretty darn good... I get 10-12hrs of continuous playback on a full charge

The only downside in my opinion is comfort. It will obviously vary from person to person. My friend complains that they aren't very comfortable for long hours, but I've had no issue wearing them for hours and hours. They aren't OVER the head, it's behind, so, yes, they are not comfortable if ur gonna kick back on a couch or lie down somewhere. But for the price and functionality i think they're decent

I would also add that they are very durable... I use to throw them across the room, kick it across the floor, etc. during some of my modern warfare marathon sessions in bouts of frustration and they are A OKAY

Definitely came to the wrong forum to ask this question. Read up on head-fi.org, lots of good info can be found there. I bought my beats refurbished when monster had them for $99, they arent that great but they look awesome which is why I bought them.

It doesn't really have anything to do with taste, you're buying $300 headphones with similar frequency response to $70 headphones but with boosted bass because bass = cooool.

I suppose you think wal mart RCA cables and Monster cables sound the same too right ? You actually have to get them off the best buy display case before you can properly judge them . The bass isn't even boosted. The solos are. The better quality cables ensures the bass travels better and doesn't suffer signal loss ... and if you don't believe in that..you don't believe in science . Or you just have a beef. They are not about bass at all . That's what people assume about them .

And as far as freq response goes ... Walmart speakers have the "same" freq response as my Energy and Infinity home stereo .. they are just numbers that can be made to say whatever really . Kinda like contrast ratios on tvs. A Westinghouse can have a 2000000000:1 contrast ratio and still look like ass when compared to a a good TV.

In the end ... haters hate haha . Not upset with anyone. Sorry OP for the thread going the entire wrong direction.

Because I said RCA? Haha

Yes , you're correct ... I have no knowledge of audio equipment whatsoever.. I was trolling... come on man. Its literally what I do for a living ... I love this forum which is why I post here. But in the end , my "credibility" as an audio engineer is not going to affected by a mobile device forums opinion on the Monster Beats headphones haha. Like was said before . Its opinion really .

The mdr-v6s are great. The noise isolation is great. My only problem is I have had several pair and the right channel always dies. Had a buddy that's a dj and the same thing happened. Could be a fluke though. I still have a set now that I have used for a couple years with no problems at all.

Dont take advice from someone who tells you anything monster sells is good.
If you can stretch your dollar a bit you can get these:
http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50S-Studio-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U
They are superb headphones for the money.
So Monster isn't good? I have monster speaker cable, monster video cables and monster Digi cables, and I have to tell ya, Monster IS good. But like lucas said, its all opinion. Headphones are something that only a user can tell you if he/she likes it. A lot of people don't have the same ear and don't need to spend extra money. I was in the electonics industry for over 20 years, and like lucas said, you get what you pay for. My Monster power center also saved me from buying all my electronics again when I was hit with lightning 2 years ago.
