So Monster isn't good? I have monster speaker cable, monster video cables and monster Digi cables, and I have to tell ya, Monster IS good. But like lucas said, its all opinion. Headphones are something that only a user can tell you if he/she likes it. A lot of people don't have the same ear and don't need to spend extra money. I was in the electonics industry for over 20 years, and like lucas said, you get what you pay for. My Monster power center also saved me from buying all my electronics again when I was hit with lightning 2 years ago.

In short, they sell snake oil. Their products are marketing genius coupled some strong contracts with major retail outlets. They are pushing cables with out-worldly claims and features that the average consumer does not need.
If you enjoy supporting a manufacturer with the ethics of a Somali Pirate, have at it.

It's not that monster is BAD.. Theyre just over priced and all of the 'science' they claim has no real world effects. They could sell a ketchup popsicle to a lady in white gloves.

If I can get monster on sale I'd go for it (the build quality is nice and the warranty is also nice) but you will not see or hear any difference from the cheap monoprice stuff.

I have a twenty or so year old pair of these. Best headphones I have ever used. They still work just as well as when they were brand new. They are also still commonly used in studios.
