I'm on the verge of buying a new phone to replace my 6P. For me, I'm one of the ones who suffers with the other person hearing an echo of themselves when I speak to them, or they complain that I'm muffled / underwater etc...

I need to use my phone for work email, so can't root (nor should I have to) to disable the noise cancelling mic - but then I can't use my phone for actual phone calls :(

I'm contemplating an S6 Edge or a OnePlus 3 as a replacement while I ride out the rest of my contract on the 6P.

Sounds like you might have a bad device I haven't experienced any of those issues.

Yep, certainly seems like there were some bad batches out there.

Sadly, I bought mine on contract, so it involves sending it back to Huawei, and having them "fix" it - which they've done once before, but there's no actual fix. To cap it off, I have no backup phone to use while I send it off for them to not repair it.

It's a shame, because most other things about the phone are good - though it's slightly too big for my liking, and I'm not getting great battery performance (particularly SOT) but that may be down to having my work email app thing on there.

For the 3 or so I have lived with since Windows Mobile/Phone, this is the first I can say I am truly happy with. Wish the battery was removable but outside of that, it is one hell of a piece of kit. My G3 was good, but the quirks and terrible OEM rom or buggy CM roms for it just made me hate it at a software level (Still love the hardware design and the back buttons. Side power and volume buttons on the 6P are my only huge gripe. Whoever thought the power button should be where it is on the 6P should be kicked in the nuts).
Before that was my EVO LTE and while it started life rough, the last super late Sense 5 rom release for it really brought it into its own. Before that it was very buggy and glitchy at times, but that final rom really did bring me to respect it and I still have it as a FreedomPop backup device and occasional Emulator player when my 6P is charging or something lol. Also it's Kickstand is fantastic and I wish HTC would bring that back with a Boomsound EVO in the future... Sigh

We will see what the next Nexus's bring, but the lack of forward facing speakers sort of bums me out with the leaks so far. I would love something with all the new bells an whistles, but since the 6P does support Daydream VR and all, I may not need to upgrade for another year or so. We shall see...

I`ve been a android user from the begining had a few jumps to IOS but always after a short time returned to android. Last jump from Iphone 6s plus to galaxy s7 and would say i was very disapointed with s7 and ending replacing it with nexus 6p and would never trade it for anything else except maybe a new nexus ;). I could say that i never had phone for longer time than i had nexus 6 and 6p so for me 6p is the best phone i had and absolutely love it and would recomend it.

Nexus 6P - still rules my heart !

Don't get me wrong but I am a beginner YouTuber and this is the first phone that I have reviewed, not the reviewer like review but this one is my primary device since Dec-2015. Here is the story how I landed on Nexus 6P.

I was tired of my old phone (S4) [Lot of heating, battery problem, lags and so on] so I purchased Sony Z2 but damn it was the disappointment again even it had more serious problem (Camera stops working due to overheating). I had no choice because both the tech giants let me down. Finally I moved to Nexus 6P and my experience till now is fantastic. No heating, Superb camera, fair battery backup and so on. Finally now I am settled down to Nexus 6P and I don't have any second thought of changing the device for at least a year. Here is my YouTube video reviewing the Beast - Nexus 6P.

BTW isn't the thread name is unique ?

After 5 years being an iPhone user, I decided to switch to Android. I enjoy both platforms, both have their pros and cons, but even after having the Huawei Nexus 6P for about a week I can say "Why haven't I switched earlier?!". The only reason that I switched is that it's the first capable flagship Stock Android phone on the market. What I appreciate about android is that it gives the user the freedom to customize the phone and make it a more personal thing. I rooted my phone and this allowed me to access a new world of tweaks. I have enjoyed the possibilities of a jailbroken iPhone, there are some amazing tweaks out there, however they don't come close to the number of Android tweaks.

Battery life is pretty much amazing for this monster of a phone (internals and screen), doze works flawlessly to preserve the battery. Screen is crystal clear, Speakers are powerful and placed on the front, Camera offers very good quality pictures and video footage, the recent updates improves camera stabilization. Fingerprint scanner works all the time.

Basically Nexus 6P is all I ever wanted in a companion phone, it caters for any requirements I have, if I think of a way to improve it, boom, there is a tweak for it.

Only complaint I have is that is tends to heat quite a lot if you switch between a lot of apps. This happens for power users not the average joe. This complaint may turn into a concern cause it may affect the battery life in the long run. However, the pros drastically outweigh the cons.

I will surely be buying another Stock Android phone in the future. Waiting for Android N. :cowboy:

I did my research really well before buying a new phone just for no reason, I had an Xperia Z and was perfectly happy with it really. They both feel like chocolate bars, melting in your hand. Just great form factor and first impressions the 6P hasn't let me down :) Especially browsing the web fast and furious.

I'm looking into some customizations that are OS specific and not related to the phone. But yeah, I knew what to look for and I just feel like I got the best phone there is Aug 2016, period.

p.s. they don't actually melt in your hand. It was a metaphor. But you know that.

Went from an iPhone 6s Plus to a Nexus 6P as iOS 10 confirmed that Apple is pretty much set in their ways with the OS.

I have owned multiple Android devices over the years but this is by far the best. Easily one of the best phones I have used.

Would highly recommend this to anyone. I am a Nexus convert from here on in.
Yup I converted after Iphone 4 cos I could feel the corporate straightjacket coming on. Google etc have caught up with that. Buuut... there's hope. At the very least leaving Apple has stopped the getting ripped off from paying premium and getting limited "lite" hardware.

Had mine for a couple of weeks, great phone, very fast in all areas. I like the fact it is not loaded with vendor bloatware. I am going to freeze some of the Google stuff that I do not use.

Dislikes, can not use a credit card reader.
Cant have contacts written to phone, only Google contacts.

Things I already knew but still do not like.
No removable SD.
No removable battery.

Not sure how your work place requires your email to be setup but for me, I'm able to use the CloudMagic email app to overcome that problem. I'm able to use my work email and it overrides the usual security requirements that Android will activate if you add your work email to the built in email app. I'm able to root and everything works beautifully.

If all fails, he can try Nine before buying. it is the only one that worked for me.

I'm rooted and tried numerous ROM. All with Nine.

Unfortunately I don't get a choice of email app, we have to use [email protected], and that checks for whether you're rooted - actually, it even checks for apps that are 'capable' of root... So it wouldn't work when I had Titanium Backup installed.

Anyway... I got so fed up with it I bought a OP3 and so far, I couldn't be happier! It's slightly smaller but makes a big difference, nicer to hold in the hand, I'm getting twice the battery life I was getting on the 6P, the output level from the headphone jack is better so I don't have to have it at 100%, oh, and I can happily make calls with people hearing me clearly!!

The 6P will be getting sold, and I'll think twice about a Nexus device to be honest.

Now with the Nougat update to the Nexus 6P, this is still the best phone I've ever used. Usually phones get slow and wonky after a year, but the 6P keeps going...

Love my Nexus

Great phone, i miss my M8 (it tried swimming) but honestly i got this phone because Telus doesn't stock the HTC 10 and i am impressed. I may have bought this phone a the end of its lifespan but it is worth it. It is the first phone i have rooted and that was such a great thing to do. Plus its super easy on these nexus devices. The only downside i have encountered it how big this phone feels to me. I seem to go back to just holding my brick of aluminum (M8) and realizing that it really seems to be a near perfect size and shape. Something i wish the 6P had. But i guess that's what the next pixel devices are for coming from HTC, the gods of phone design haha.

Ps dont grill me on the M9 design, as far as i go its an iphone clone and i am in denial it exists...
