Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the HTC U11, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the HTC U11 is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Excellent Phone. Interesting Design. Smooooooooth Operator.

- HTC Sense is MUCH improved from my last experience(HTC One S long ago) and does not compel me to immediately install another launcher. (IMHO - OP5 OxygenOS is the best non-pure, non-custom dev OS)
- Sound is good on speakers; great on wired headset; decent on bluetooth.
- Assistant Apps - the choices can be confusing but I prefer choices.
---- Google Assistant - GAss is tolerable - Google Now seemed better.
---- HTC Alexa + Amazon Alexa = confusing; why do we need both?
---- HTC Sense Companion = whisperer of nothing? If someone has found it valuable, let me know.
- Screen is great.
- Battery has been EXCELLENT. I am getting ~24 hours on with 4-5 hours screen time. (No serious heavy gaming or videos though)
- Camera is stellar in daylight; decent in lowlight; night shots needs Pro adjustment to avoid graininess.

Right up there with the rest.

Very very very happy with this phone, and I must admit originally I was skeptical of the U11, but after playing with it for a while.... now I can't get it off my hands.

Very similar to this review https://www.xda-developers.com/i-wa...hip-can-be-a-remarkable-phone-squeeze-or-not/

but I had the phone way before they did the review.

I'm using Nova Launcher, it's soooooooooooooooooooooo smooooooooooooooooth.

everything flows sooooooooooo naturally with this phone, I can't believe it's real.

Like seriously I had the Samsung S7 before and it was nothing as smooth as this even after customization.

--- EDIT ---

Ah! forgot to mention about the Audio, besides the smooth screen animation either for simple things like UI or in Games / Apps, the Audio is outstanding, the Boom, the STEREO! the 3D sound the... MOVIE EXPERIENCE in the palm of your hands.

All the Games and Netflix are soooooooo much livery now.

Space shooters, Racing games, it's almost like playing in a Desktop PC but in your hands.

For Gaming hands down this HTC U11 takes the throne.... compared to the Samsung S7 or S8, that is less fluid (blame it on TouchWiz ui slow framework )

This is my first HTC (Android) phone. Had a couple running windows pre iPhone ?

I've owned pretty much every flagship since the galaxy s2 and I always steered clear of HTC due to it's sub par camera woes. When I saw that this phone got a 90 dxomark score placing it ahead of the then reigning pixel I figured what the heck.

First impressions. Great build quality. Great software with a little caveat. I love the fact that there is little app duplication like the galaxy s8 but I'm not a big fan of the UI. Sense is somewhat invasive and the launcher is extremely dated. Thank god for Nova...

When you get past that this phone is amazing. The sound is great. The display is the best LCD display I've ever seen. The colour reproduction is pretty much perfect. Of course the camera is amazing.

I've only had it for a couple of days so I have yet to put it through its paces but I do see why HTC has such a loyal fan base.

Cheers!

Do you use them naked?
Sort of. I put a Phantom Skinz Ultra Clear on my Solar Red U11. It doesn't give the "pink effect" that almost all the clear cases give it and it will protect from scratches. I've never cracked or broken a phone though. It did fall about 5.5 ft 3 days after I got it. It bounced like a pachinko game and even hit my metal helmet mount I have hanging on the wall of my cube at work then hit the floor. No damage.

I like this phone a lot ... not one complaint.

Top Notch. I had HTCs back to the old, original 4G and up to the M8. I just switched from the Note 5, I was going to wait for the Note 8, but it seemed that everyone either drank the Apple Koolaid or the Samsung Juice. This phone is super fast and smooth. I did like the wireless charging and occasional S-Pen, but am soooo glad I got the U11. Battery life is amazing and I am a heavy widget user. I love and missed Blink Feed, but got so used to Nova prime, so I use Nova, with the Prism shortcut button to switch over to the Blinkfeed page. No regrets on getting this phone, I hope HTC continues to blossom with this flagship. Next step, possible unlocking bootloader.

I have owned every HTC from the evo 4g. I didn't use my ultra, sold it brand new. I love this phone !! The U11 is amazing !! Having the LG and Samsung flagships being used by most of my friends it feels good knowing that HTC is back where they belong. IN FRONT OF EVERYONE ELSE !!!!! Nothing compares to this masterpiece!! The feel of the construction is very satisfying ! The camera is bar none ! Screen is beautiful ! Connectivity is as to be expected from HTC, better than any other. I get LTE reception right next to my wifes S7 edge when she has 3g !! As we all know we cannot even pretend that any iphone could even buy tickets to the main event much less compete in it. So it goes without saying ( but I like to) Apple has all but flown the coup when comparing to Android flagships. Finally the fact that HTC is cool with us unlocking and customizing our own ROMs (well props to BadBoyz they always run my HTCs). That just spreads the icing thick over my cake. So if you haven't yet, take one small lick of this deliciousness and you'll be in for a tasty treat that deserves a dunk in milk. HaHa Oreo coming !!!!!!!!!

The device is great and it performs excellent but 2 things are ****ed up:
1. No headphone jack (i regret buying this phone) and I will never buy another phone without 3.5mm, I am seriously considering to go back to sammy.

2. Bezels..... but maybe we can omit this point because it sounds great without headphones.

My first HTC phone, and I don´t like it.... 2 Problems... ram management is to agressive...games are always closing in the background.. I had never such problems with my OnePlus 3t or LG G5...
And you can´t deactivate the buttons (backbutton for example...) In the OnePlus 3t you can deactivate it and show the buttons on the screen...

I have to sell the phone... :(

Which ver of rom and kernel ver you are on? Latest kernel seems fixed the ram problem.

I'm not sure but I think I have the latest software versions...
Software number : 1.27.401.5
Kernel: 4.4.21-perf-g26fe3e7

I did also changed the option that the game didn't optimize the battery life... I have the feeling that now it's a little bit better, but the game are still restarting after I come back to the game.. :(

Hi Aergern, I also have the solar red and I'm none too thrilled with the pink effect you mention. I was hoping for a more rust orange appearance, like many of the online pics appear. Anyway, before I spend the money for a skin, I'm curious what your looks like with the Phantom Skins Ultra Clear. Do you have a couple pics to share? Thanks

401.5 definitely got some memory leak, I was with that stock rom before I rooted my U11. 401.5 isn't the latest, I received the OTA on Aug. I'm now with LeeDroid rom on 401.10 lag free......

Sprint's enticements lured me to the S7edge a year and a half ago. Paid list to get the U11 (Sprint treats a 25 year customer like dirt) when the battery fattened up like a balloon and popped the sealed unit open, "No insurance so sorry pal." Back to the HTC U11 at a stiff price and it is worth every penny. Boy is this a sweet machine.
