Right now , I can't say I love it too much. I feel mugged and rubbed and frustrated. A phone with such a impressive features ruined by the Devs failure to set REAL LIFE USABLE VALUES for STREAM_VOICE_CALL ,STREAM_RING,STREAM_NOTIFICATION . Not only that but they keep ignoring all the feedback they receive and every other "new and improved version" focuses on the cosmetic aspect INSTEAD OF THE FUNCTIONAL. Basically this is a device you can use to catch Pokemons on the street and smash scores at Angry Birds. The moment you are trying to use it AS A PHONE you will notice the sloppy job and the abysmal quality .

Agreed, the phone hardware itself is perfect however the failure of both the custom rom devs and the miui devs with the software is terrible.
miui 11 is so lazy that they still have no app drawer and the status bar items are actually cutoff on the rounded corners. This is just lazy and unacceptable from Xiaomi.
custom roms all have wifi issues, proximity sensor issues, play certification issues, major camera issues, audio issues and the list is endless as they all use the same sources and take 2-3 weeks to add things like "Fix audio issue in voip app". Nobody cares about or uses voip.. fix the real issues.
Hopefully soon we will get software for the phone that works better than google android, in fact i think people are done with google all together.
miui.eu is the only thing that seems to do a half decent job of making it a usable phone but its still miui (rubbish).
Very sad story in 2020 to see that it is not the hardware that we need improved but the humans that make the hardware crap with bad software.

It's a pity and frustrating to see note 7 being not paid enough attention by xiaomi, and also by third parties. Still no official twrp or Los. Xiaomi's pace of releasing new phones is at insane level. They seem to be moving too quickly with new or better technology while treating their "not so old phones" already as if obsolete. This isn't a good business model to retain they customer basis. But maybe that's the sacrifice we have to make, for such inexpensive phones with good hardware. I'm not unhappy with this phone, but can be happier overall.
