Since I'm an exclusive Huawei user for 5 years now, ( I used mediapad x1, honor 4c, mate 8, nova plus, and now the mate 10)

Yes, the ui is choppy sometimes, but it never freezes and requires me to reboot the device like how Samsung devices does ( last Samsung device I used before I switch to Huawei was the galaxy note 3).

I guess the pixel or oneplus would be a better choice if they were available in my country.

After using the Huawei mate 10 for 2 weeks now I can say this
DON'T BUY THIS PHONE

for a flagship with a flagship price you'd expect much much better performance, apps takes seconds to open, animations are slow stutters like hell even after setting the animation to 0.5

I never felt I gained any speed bump from my 2 years old mate 8.

In short it's a ****ty deal to buy the Huawei mate 10.

Regarding UI lags i solved it by switching to Nova Prime. Now he runs like a champ. No difference from OP6 which i had for 48h to try(sister's hubby bought it).

I don't agree.
My mate 10 is very fast and if the price is right is an excellent phone with good hardware and best in class battery

Do they consider the 10 the flagship? I thought that title was given to the Pro.

So after using the phone for 2 months here's my thoughts :

I noticed that it took nearly a month for my phone experience to stabilize, I noticed that my cloud was restoring many things from my older Huawei mate 8 ( for examples my notes were empty in the first week then I noticed some notes started to come back and then some pictures as well)

Then I got an update ( the one for hand held night mode) and 90% of the stutter was gone, which is good but still not great for a flagship experience.

N. B. I also disabled the app gallery and any Huawei stock app

So, I got the android pie update just now, and my oh my, all animation stutters and bugs are gone, the phone is speedy as it should be and as worthy of a flagship, thanks to the added performance mode...

I'll post another comment after I test how's the battery performance

I think it's a good "midrange" phone yes midrange becuse you can't compare it to something like note 9 or iPhone xs it has a good camera(not compared to high end flagships) and a good battery like other good midrange phones it's smooth and you won't need a fast phone if you don't play games and it has a great modem for downloading think (for faster connection you should turn it on in settings) we shouldn't expect 4 a53 and 4 a73 cores to beat a75 and 55 cores(maybe it has a npu but thats for some little works and good phone should have a good cpu not npu things, its just advertising)

Managed to speed up this cr*p....debloated, disabled system launcher and put "Pear Launcher" as default. Finally now it's working like it should
