Copy Msm7kClockLib.dll (\Windows) --> Storage card ??? why this , inever used this , did you wait until phone fully boot , when the phones start booting if you pres something , phone will freeze ... don't connect your phone to pc or any adapter
I copied the file as the readme inside the setCPUSpeed zip instructed.
While waiting your reply that time, I perform hardreset and try to do a step by step like you instructed with success. But when I open the netRipper, it shows me 384mHz then I try to slide it but with no luck. It back to 384. Why?

you must never overclocked in netRipper main program , you're overclocking in registry when you're having setcpuspeed on storage card .. if you will overclock in main peogram with sliding the phone will froze ..i just updated the tutorial on first page check them out

I have followed this thread for a long time ago and I have never had success in oc my x1. I just tried the steps in the updated tut in post 1 and now I am on 672Mhz with no problem. That was nice 2 c.
However I have noticed some things while in the process:

NetRippers Msm7kCpuSpeed V.2 App was already in my device
Installed as advised SetCpuSpeed v1.0d + took SD card out and soft reset the phone.
Durring boot a message popped up abt SCS probably due to missing card (so normal?)
As usualy the phone showed the Launching Sense graphic and got to enter pin screen. Waited for a while and dialed pin and waited for Sense to load, which btw never happened.

Then I used the rest of tut 2 o/c successfuly. I hate though a Sense-less X1.
What could possibly have gone wrong?

I will probably reflash a newer NRG rom since I am still on 4 Sept v. but I am curious abt what happened...

ok before you soft reset you must return storage card back in ....and you try to disable pin or wait abou 2 minutes becouse if you will start to type the pin before the phone fully boot it won't work ...try again but when you complete registry setings put your storage card back ,soft reset and wait the phone to fully boot up and you will get a faster xperia ...trust me :)

my friend thnx 4 ur quick reply, I did actually had 672 Mhz and it is faster already. I understank that if I play with reg edit I might get more than 672 but this is not the issue.
I might wrongly have not re-inserted the card since I did restart and not shut down / open, but I waited for at least 10 minutes since I was away from the phone doing sth else before entering pin.
What bugs me is why sense did not load...
I will try again for this after flashing 18 sept Nrg.

I overclocked to 670 something and it made benchmarks better for integer and floating point, but it does not help at all with stuff like CHT being laggy. I couldn't figure out when this would be of any benefit, so I removed it, and I can't tell any difference.

Have any of you found any real differences in performance (not benchmarks) and if so, what programs or activities did it make a difference?

yes there is diffrence in programs wich using mostly cpu , a problem is becouse our gpu is not good enough , for speed up i use teksoft speedbooster , there you can increase how much cpu is dedicated to some program ....but with wrong settings you can easy decrease performance so you must know which processes you can deacrese and which increase ....

I have try msm7kcpuspeed few time butt my phone allways freez it's self or restart.
Now, with setCPU its working great! For now, my SE X1 is faster and stabile. I have Energy ROM 23138.Sense2.5.Cookie.DinikGlass.Sep.20 and in MSM I have 748MHz. It's eating battery, yes, but who cares!
Real differences? Faster opening of start menu, faster manila and typing in SMS.

Got a poor overclocker

Hey all,

Using version 2 of msm7kcpuspeed I can only get mine to 652. At setting 35 (670) it freezes. Guess I just got a poor chip.

Would using version 1 give better results or should I just be happy with my faster X1 at 652?

use msm7kcpuspeed v.1 in main storage and use setclockspeed microSD
in regedit try change "check time" with different number.

this is my setting. run at 728MHz
rom : cookie energy sep 20
boottime 90000
checktime 17
command 0
performancelevel 38
screenoffperformancelevel 31
settlingtime 10

Is there a way to use this with nuedynamicclock?
no.
always freeze

I clocked to 787 MHz with settings
boottime 90000
checktime 17
command 0
performancelevel 38
screenoffperformancelevel 1
settlingtime 10

or you can clock not more than 714 but stable(standart speed is 604MHz)
boottime 90000
checktime 20
command 0
performancelevel 1
screenoffperformancelevel 44
settlingtime 10
