[Overlay][No root] Black navigation bar apk for Oreo

I realize this is a GS8/Note 8 thread but tried this on my Note 9 (running android 8.1) and the black option shows up in settings but the navbar stays white. Oh well, I guess it won't work past android 8.0.

Got you beat, I've tried 3. I followed the instructions exactly from the OP then decided to try a few more reboots.

@oyaxai This method worked perfectly for me in Android 8.0 . But today i updated my S8+ to 9.0 and lost the black bar .
So I'm wondering if your method will still continue to work on Android 9.0 if i apply it again?
Just want to make sure it won't mess anything up as it was originally made for 8.0 and I'm on 9.0.

Can you please update it to work on One UI? This was the only thing that worked for me and after I factory reset after updating to PIE the APK won't even install?

You can turn the nav bar black through system ui tuner app from playstore.

Or - in case if this app does not work anymore - just with ADB command.

Also possible with Tasker.
