Hey guys I was hoping for some help. I own a Note 5 but for school I was hoping for something smallish for textbooks. I was reading that the actual screen size of the 8.0 was actually just 6.5 by 5 inches. Is that accurate? If so would you say that the difference for reading textbooks would be almost redundant size wise between the note 5 and galaxy tab s2 8.0 screen?

Screen is nearly twice big compare to 5.7 [I have also note 4]. Reading is different taste than on phone. It is enough. I have lte tab 8.0 and it can be used as phone. All apps are as s6 (phone messages ), it has proximity to switch of screen during calls and voiuce quality is good. I can take it with 1 hand and put on ear. It is strange but not inconvenient for my opinion...

I do own note 5 and t715 tab s2 lte. If you wanna read a lot, buy the tablet. It's 8.4 inch - the screen, it's 4/3 aspect ratio, beautifull amoled screen. It's a note 4 packed as a tablet. It's slim and confortable to hold.

I just picked up a Tab S2 SM-T715Y and using a Tmobile sim and it's been great. Your measurements are very close, with my tape measure I got: 6.5" x 4 7/8" for the actual viewable screen area. My cellphone is a Note Edge which I really like but when it comes to reading books, watching videos, or looking at pics the larger screen of the Tab S2 comes in handy.

Hope this helps.

Have Nexus 6p and tab s2 8 inches. Absolutely worth it. Screen much bigger and perfect for reading and browsing.
