Panasonic have taken some ideas from Samsung’s S5 and Note 3 with the P81, a faux leather back and Multiplay feature that allows apps to be viewed side-by-side. This is Panasonic’s first octa-core smartphone, featuring a MediaTek MT6592 chipset which packs a 1.7 GHz octa-core Cortex-A7 CPU, a Mali-450MP4 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. The display is a 5.5” IPS LCD with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280, which results in a pixels per inch of ~267. Storage is on the low side, at just 8 GB, but this is expandable by microSD. Cameras include a 13 MP rear facing, which is equipped with a LED flash and a 2 MP front facing. Discussions here include topics such as rooting methods, ROM development and recoveries available for the Panasonic P81.
