The ads really are. I get one nearly after each song. Really sucks. I pray for a no ad version :/

I'd release it already, but I'm having hell, trying to compile it. Somebody want to figure out how to compile it? Let me know, and ill mod it. Even when I decompile it, and leave it as is, recompile, it fails.

I'll do the unlimited skips and no ads, and leave it ready to theme. Just that compiling issue stopping me.

Wow. Id love to have the new version with that. All i know is i dont know how to recompile apks. plus im on a mac -__- . I might find someone to theme it red, or a nice green

For those of you complaining about the ads, might I recommend a Pandora one subscription? At only $36 a year ($3 a month) it's pretty affordable, especially when you consider how expensive your cell phone plan is.
Just thought I'd mention this alternative to undermining the service.

Yeah after doing a quick Google search it seems like the compiling issue is one everyone is having (I can't post the link to the thread here because it's technically a warez forum). I tried compiling with different apk tool versions and no dice. I wonder if they did something to prevent editing of the apk to solve the unlimited skips/no ads apks
EDIT: I THINK I might have figured out what the problem is. Stay tuned.
EDIT 2: SUCCESS! Proof:
Explanation: The issue resides in the "blue_bar_close_pressed.png" and "blue_bar_close_normal.png" files found in the drawable folders as evidenced by the error log:
Somehow the files get messed with upon decompiling and not many programs will recognize it as a PNG (not even Photoshop did ಠ_ಠ) the free Paint.NET was the only one I could get it to open with. Anyway simply open the image shown above in my error log with Paint.NET and resave them. Do that for all the images in all the folders (drawable, drawable-ldpi, drawable-mdpi, drawable-hdpi and drawable-xhdpi) and then it will compile with no issues
I don't know how to exactly re-code it to skip ads but I hope you can deliver now
If you still can't get it to work, PM me the decompiled apk (just zip it up or something) with the changes and I'll compile it and PM it back to you.
