We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.

First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimisations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.

On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.

Pie
We’ve been working hard on redesigning this key feature of our portfolio and we’re really happy with how it has turned out. The whole design has been reworked and it fits in well with the overall feel of Google’s Material Design. This gives you the opportunity to use more gesture based control for navigating, rather than using the standard Navigation Bar at the bottom of your screen. Expect improvements and additions in the future.

Color Engine
We’re proud to announce our newest feature - Color Engine. Color Engine allows you to seamlessly change the colors of your device to be in Light, Dark (Pixel) and Black modes with a variety of accent colors to choose from. This makes changing the theme of your device really quick without having to install any extra packages on your device.

Major features:
- Reworked Pie
- Color engine
- Immersive mode
- Buttons customization (including navigation bar)
- On the spot controls (OTS)

Minor features:
- SafetyNet Compatibility
- Battery/Notification LED control
- Recent tasks locking
- Battery icon customization
- Google now page in default launcher
- Substratum (OMS) support (Color engine will be deactivated if you use Substratum)
- Quick pulldown
- Various performance and battery improvements
- Display Burn-in protection (for OLED screens)
- More to explore :)

Device specific features for OP3(T) (List is being updated):
- Oneplus 3(T) custom camera HAL: Resulting in better picture quality than OEM.
- Implemented custom picture background processing leading to very fast shutter speed (OnePlus 3(T) specific)
- Offscreen gestures
- sRGB support (OnePlus 3(T) specific)
- Alert slider customization
- aptX and aptXHD support
- Specific device performance and battery optimizations (details on this coming)

Note: Custom kernels are explicitly unsupported and will cause issues
unless they state that they are AOSPA compatible or AOSPA based!

After full wipe I flashed this rom, once booted color engine is disabled because "substratrum is being used" (or something similar), but I don't have substratum installed now..

I flashed it with the April bootloader with no issues in terms of loading it. The one problem I had was that Google Camera would crash on loading, but that may have been a gapps issue since it's the first time I actually used opengapps for the pixel.

For me the adb sideload stops at 35% completion and the ROM doesn't install.
April bootloader with TWRP RC2 installed. Same error with booted TWRP RC1

Went by what the instructions are linking in the OP. Takes you to the OP3T forum using arters TWRP. The file name is for the OP3T so I was a little hesitant to use it. It is a little confusing, no?

Taking this shortcut by pointing to installation instructions of an unrelated device is a sure path to bricks! Arters build of TWRP is to enable F2FS filesystem for OnePlus 3/3T devices and *not* for Pixel devices.

I am on latest stock (may security patch), with conflicting reports using twrp rc2, I am staying away from custom ROMs till I see a clear set of instructions or till I read enough to figure that out.

That is kinda of what i was worried about.

I used RC2 flashed PA and ARM64 mini OPEN GAPPS and ROM runs great so far.

Wiped everything except internal storage.
Flashed PA.
Flashed Gapps (first time was a bad download, redownloaded and worked fine).
Flashed TWRP.
Booted rom.

reboots into TWRP fine everytime.

seems to work great, no FC other than the setting app that always closes.:good::good:

2 questions to ask....

Does the rom include volume skip for music and do you have to flash vendor img? Thanks

Which gapps did you use? I used mini and it did not offer me to backup from cloud. it wanted to backup from another phone.

I used Beans' gapps... Since it seems more tailored to Pixel devices more than opengapps... Also you need to restore from cloud not setup as new device for it to show up

How is the camera quality compared to stock? Has PA also the pulldown menu with figerprint like stock?

    Hi guys!

How are you liking this first release of Paranoid Android? As I could read on the pages, seems it´s being great, but is there any suggestion you would like to make to us?

For the Night Light guy, this is how Google developed it, it´s full stock overhaul. Anyway, we were already working on some Night Light customization, so that might solve your "issue".

    Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hi. for those trying to installing this - like me

    what worked :

    Preparing device
    1.allow oem unlocking
    2.allow adb debug
    3.remove pin
    4.remove fingerprints
    4.1 move files to device.

    when that's done

    5.boot in booloader
    6.boot twrp 3.2.0.0.img - not latest
7.once in twrp, swipe to allow mods
    8.flash twrp installer
    9.power off, reboot in twrp.

If twrp doesn't stick, for some reason, repeat 5 to 9 until it sticks.

    10.wipe system, data, cache.
    11.install rom
    12.install gapps
    13.install root package
    14.wipe dalvik/cache
    15.reboot

    16. enjoy and say thanks to the lovely guys here.

I can confirm data is working here.

Make sure when you flash you do the following and I believe data will work:

Do a full wipe (except internal storage)
    Flash PA
    Flash twrp zip
    Reboot
    Check data is working
If so, reboot to recovery, flash gaaps

It means you don't have the app restore function from Google but at least your data works.

This is just what I did, when I tried it first time around by flashing gaaps straight after the rom data never worked.

    Just a theory.?

Can you link me a file where I can help translate the mods you added? Just to improve some contents :)

I am working on get Crowdin ready, which is a tool that allows people to suggest translations and merge them directly on our Github via the Gerrit.

I think I will have it ready for this weekend, I will inform by here or on my Twitter's profile @herna

    2. Fastboot boot recovery.img (twrp 3.0.2-0-RC1)
    3. Flash PA Rom
    4. Flash GAPPS
    5. Flash TWRP pixel installer 3.0.2-0-RC1.zip
    6. Reboot to system.

The only place i get error message is when installing GAPPS.
Tried both ARM64 / ARM. All kinds of packs even Aroma.
    Triee 7.0.x / 7.1.x

    Nothing seems to work.
By the way thank you very much for helping me. I am always a fan of PA Rom. I had it on all my previous android devices. Never had issues. Only this time.

Note: Roms with Gapps built in are totally fine.

    It's

    Flash PA Rom
    Flash TWRP pixel installer 3.0.2-0-RC1.zip
Not sure if you need to Flash the boot verify signer zip with this rom or not, but that would go here if you do
    Reboot to recovery.
    Flash GAPPS
    Reboot to System.
