This happened to me all the time, even on stock and then I changed my battery and it fixed everything. Probably just an old battery. This can also happen if the phone gets too cold.I'm having strange battery issues after some weeks using Quartz 5...
Sometimes the phone shuts down around 12% battery like it has 3 or less %... One plugged, it quickly shows around 20%...
Maybe my battery is too old?
Any idea?
Has anyone tried flashing quartz 5 and gapps by side loading them using lineage recovery instead of twrp? I've really been wanting to try this ROM but would like to avoid downgrading to stock January and using TWRP. I'm currently running Nov 16th LOS 17.1, pico gapps , and lineage recovery. I was on the stock February firmware before flashing the recovery and ROM. Thanks for any advice!

I used to have this problem. Did a fresh install a couple days ago and problem solved. I would use GCAM anyways unless you really need the monochrome lens. Thanks for the answer!
Any info on camera non starting (needing reboot)?
It seems to be broken on every Ph1 roms (except stock)
Thanks, I'll try it... Did you install it on the 2 slots?I used to have this problem. Did a fresh install a couple days ago and problem solved. I would use GCAM anyways unless you really need the monochrome lens.
Not sure what you mean, considering the installation process automatically installs to both slots, but what I did was install the stock January firmware and followed these steps. Thanks, I'll try it... Did you install it on the 2 slots?
I don't think this changes everything but maybe?
At a high-level do the following - Download 1 to 4 and follow steps a - i.
1. Download the PA Quartz latest build.
https://paranoidandroid.co/downloads/mata
2. Download January firmware and vendor files (Essential's QQ1A.200105.088 vendor).
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KqbgmVRipSlkJh8cMXdOo0c-Vlk23YFC/view
3. Download TWRP (boot and installer)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PTVH_RZfF5OQbON2XzU6QSwSr8DSwJIy/view
https://dl.twrp.me/mata/twrp-installer-mata-3.2.3-0.zip
4. TWRP guide
https://twrp.me/essential/essentialph1.html
a. Reboot your phone to the bootloader (simply reboot phone and hold down the volume-down button).
b. Extract the January firmware and vendor zip (point 2)
c. At your computer, open the directory and launch either flashall.sh or flashall.bat (former linux/OSX, latter Windows)
d. Install the TWRP boot image (from point 3), as follows; (Assuming you have adb/fastboot tools installed, head to Google for these)
fastboot flash boot boottwrp.img
/* check it was successful, if not use the guide at point 4 */
fastboot reboot bootloader
e. Using the volume buttons, select and reboot into recovery (this should launch TWRP).
f. Within TWRP perform a factory reset
g. Within TWRP install PA Quartz zip (from point 1)
h. Within TWRP, install TWRP installer zip (from point 3)
i. At this point, assuming it was successful, you can reboot your phone as normal, or reboot into recovery once more to install Magisk.
I believe the devs do check this thread. So they should see it. Otherwise, you can always reach out on Twitter or Telegram. Not sure it's VoLTE that's broken though. All I know is that VoLTE is breaking outgoing SMS somehow (btw did you confirm that this is the case for you as well?) And I know that bug was not in Q4. Also, I have not tried a fresh install. Came from Q4 via the OTA.
Yeah that is strange, I'm in the telegram too and been waiting patiently to hear about it. May give this a try in my free time and report back.Just dropping by to say that an alpha version of PA Ruby has been available for mata for a few weeks now. Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere (not even on the official telegram channel which is strange). Anyways, I haven't tried it, and I personally don't recommend anyone to run alpha software on their daily device but you can find it here if anyone's interested
Flashed that alpha build of Paranoid, here's my report:Just dropping by to say that an alpha version of PA Ruby has been available for mata for a few weeks now. Thanks for testing! I may switch back to PA now that VoLTE is working. Really wish Hey Google was working, I'm missing on my current ROM too (Evolution X)Another alpha version of PA Ruby has been released.

Mobile network settings are still greyed out, but on my PH-1 the default connections are stable and correct.
VoLTE is working, SMS is sending and receiving, WiFi calling is not accessible.
*#*#4636#*#* shows that VoLTE, Video Calling, and Wifi Calling are provisioned... so, when the Mobile network settings are made available Video Calling and Wifi Calling will be selectable options.
SafetyNet passes.
May 5, 2021 Security Update
Fingerprint works for unlocking the phone and app login.
Face Unlock works.
Google Pay works.
Banking apps work (only tested mine, which are US)
Hey Google... nope. Voice recognition isn't available
Chrome has been working without any problems.
Essential Camera crashes when Portrait is selected... I haven't spent much time with the camera yet. And anyway, I use Parrot043 version 8.2.204.
It's too bad that PA is so under the radar.
EvoX is working smooth for me here, although Chrome does crash for me sometimes. Hey Google has never worked for me on PH1, apart from stock. Thanks for testing! I may switch back to PA now that VoLTE is working. Really wish Hey Google was working, I'm missing on my current ROM too (Evolution X)
Hi Bro! I hope you can help me, I understand that first I must go to the January firmware so as not to have problems, how did you do it?I had some problems installing the ROM too. It must be because TWRP has some problems running with the february Essential update.
What I did:
1. Run the script, provided in the StatixOS thread, that installs the january firmware (that makes TWRP work) and the february vendor (needed for installing this ROM).
2. Install the TWRP image and then sideload the TWRP zip (both provided at the TWRP website). That'll make touch work for TWRP.
3. Install the ROM, then install the TWRP zip again.
4. Reboot to recovery and then install GApps and Magisk (optional, but you HAVE to reboot before installing any of these after installing the ROM and the TWRP zip).
5. Profit.
I skipped some stuff like the AB partition thingy that I'm guessing you already know.
Let me know how it goes.:fingers-crossed:
Bro esta guía, ¿puedo estar todavía en el firmware QQ1A.200105.032?No estoy seguro de lo que quiere decir, considerando que el proceso de instalación se instala automáticamente en ambas ranuras, pero lo que hice fue instalar el firmware estándar de enero y seguí estos pasos.
But, I saw people saying that the touch doesn't work in TWRP. Do you think I can sideload in case the touch doesn't work?
Yes, I am aware. However, that vendor image is not compatible with this current beta. You want to use Essential's stock vendor from the February factory image.Thank you. Did you notice there's a ASOP firmware/vendor available from Essential now? "Vendor (AOSP) Release | Q 10 - QQ1A.200105.088" over at https://www.essential.com/developer/current-builds
