Need a bit of help here.
I just dirty flashed Beta 5 on my 7 pro and I got stuck on a bootloop. Firstly, I installed the latest TWRP by mauronofrio. Then I flashed PA, the TWRP installer and magisk on both slots. After rebooting, I got into a bootloop. Back to TWRP, I realized it was
unable to mount data (my phone is decrypted, by the way). I'm not sure what to do now. Anyone got any ideas? Much appreciated

Your problem is that you flashed Magisk twice.

This is how I flash most ROM's and literally never have problems.

Format data/
Flash rom(from USB)/
Flash TWRP(if not included in rom zip)/
Reboot recovery/
Flash Gapps(if not included in rom zip)/
Flash Magisk/
Reboot to system/

Enjoy Rom/
Repeat (with different rom)/

It's this way on my ph-1 essential phone (Mata) It's this way on my OnePlus 6t (Fajita) it's this way on my OnePlus 7pro (Guacamole)
Just do it like that and you'll be good always!
Good luck and I hope this simplifies it for you.

Sent from my GM1917 using XDA Labs

Beta 5 is very polished. Coming from Omnirom, some differences

- Volume toggle panel is on same side as h/w volume keys
- Smoother and more responsive
- Far better battery drain in terms of idle
- feels cleaner

Some positive notes
- Oh yes, android auto (for car head units) works flawlessly!
- fingerprint unlock is as fast as OOS.

Some minor issues
- Pick up to ambient display notification is like 80% reliable (usually doesnt work after deep sleep i.e. long idle like few hours) and sometimes only lock + fingerprint icons. Clock would disappear (omni has this issue too)
- Always on ambient display is way too bright for usage in total darkness
- Adaptive display is way too sensitive. brightness bouncing up and down in same room lighting

Some wishlist
- addition of single tap ambient display wake?
- 0% brightness to be same as OOS (as in make current 0% even darker now)
- lower brightness in always on ambient display

Overall, its an upgrade over omni + far more friendly developers. Stable daily driver! Recommended to flash

Has anyone tried this with the dualboot TWRP? I just get a bootloop, I've tried OOS 10.0.3, 10.3.0, and Beta 9 at the beginning lol. I've tried a bunch of different combinations with no luck.

I can't get it to install with normal TWRP, I get bootloops. I've tried following swiftbones74's advice, and still can't get it to boot. Also tried without magisk, just can't get it to boot.

I searched the thread and it's not mentioned, so I'm guessing this doesn't work on the 7T Pro? There is a thread for an unofficial version of PA in the 7T Pro forum but no one has posted in it over a month.

Thanks for the words! I love to see this kind of well done posts.

We still need to work on pick up to ambient display, the sensor is acting weird sometimes, we will get through it. Regarding brigtness for always on display I can try to make it lower or adaptative, let see. About 0% brightness, we are using OxygenOS brightness values, we would need to play with it a bit, will update you if we ever change it.

And now, related to single tap, yes, we are adding it in the next build, code is already available at our Gerrit.

cheers man, with such great developer attitude and sharing the rom for free with the community, the very least of my contribution is to give constructive feedback :)

looking forward to the next build with all these fixes. I very much agree that beta 5 is a RC release. everything works, no complains!

Do let me know if u need a beta tester, more than happy to ease my flash-holic.. haha no way rushing you for the next build as i believe in quality! Great to be back in PA after so long

This build is absolute great! Battery life is great, gotta agree with some other people over the high brightness "issue" on AOD, and the ability to hide the in-display fingerprint icon would be very much appreciated (because of burn-in), but everything else is top tier, keep up with the good work :)

Rom is running fine absolutely, could be possible to add unlinked sound for notification and ringtone, or an increasing ringtone?

Are you working on Screen Colors Calibrations and Dolby porting?

Best

I'd just assume beta 5 is broken to not dirty flash then, I only see people updating to it from beta 4 here.

I actually got it running by doing a clean flash of the official OxygenOS rom, then a clean flash of beta 5, so not sure if my firmware was a bit borked, but the flash process was the same each time, it just happened to work the last time.

I have the same experience. I came from OOS10 10.0.4 and I fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-79-guacamole-unified-Q-mauronofrio.img

Any suggestions on troubleshooting actions?

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.

On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.

Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

    Device-specific issues

    You tell me.

Note: Custom kernels are NOT supported!

    Hi everyone!

We have fixed the vibration stuff, and right now we could say we are on pair(even above IMO) in terms of vibration compared to OOS.

It will be included in a release which will be out during the next 7 days, which is going to be a huuuuuge update.

    Hope you like it!
