I recently downloaded Oxygen OS 12 for my Oneplus 8T and while decent, there's some stuff I would Like to change and PA has those. I was thinking of unlocking the bootloader and installing the sapphire 3 alpha but I'm worried my Bank of America app, as well as other banking apps I use, would stop working cause I unlocked the Boot loader.

I read about SafetyNet but I'm not sure what that is or how it works. What version should I download? Will the bank apps still work with the unlocked bootloader?

And a side not since I'm new at cmd stuff, whenever I use adb to reboot into fastboot I try to type fastboot devices but my phone is not showing in the command prompt even though I see it is on the fastboot screen. So when I type fastboot oem unlock the prompt still tells me waiting for devices...

You have to revert to OxygenOS 11 to install this ROM. Otherwise it will NOT work at the moment. I've tried myself and my phone got bricked and would go into crashdump. As for banking apps, it depends on each and every one of them. You could look up online how's the experience between an unlocked bootloader and your bank's app to see what others are saying. The app could launch but not allow certain actions or just not boot up at all, really depends.

PS: SafetyNet is mostly about telling other apps that your phone is rooted. Your bootloader status though is not something easy to fake or go around. Once you unlock it you can only relock it by going back to stock.

I will downgrade back to OOS 11 since I liked it better but I still don't know if the bank apps will work with paranoid android. it's the one and the only thing stopping me from installing it on my phone.

Bank apps (FINECO) works great also GPAY + NFC works :)

So I got paranoid sapphire 3 installed; after all the OOS11 reboot wiped all data so might as well try to use paranoid, to learn that banking apps do in fact work well.

But now I have another problem. I have 2 sims in my one plus 8T and I made constant use of the parallel app's functionality that comes in Oxygen OS

PA does support dual sim but I don't know if there's a way to run 2 versions of the same app. Something I will really need since I have my personal Whatsapp with my US number and the family and friends one with my sim from home.

Does anybody know if you can do that? or how can I do that, since I'm liking paranoid android

There should be some apps on the store that can run parallel apps as in have 2 accounts for one app

Has anyone had any problems during the setup? Right now it can not connect to the Google Servers on Wifi or 4G.

tried both. i had to MSM unbrick and installed aosp extended as i had to get back online right away. i'd like to go for a second try.

any reason why device type "kona" is specified? after i overwrote and flashed, my OP8P started thinking it was kona.

i tried from bootloader and recovery -> fastbootd mode

Maybe wait for the beta. Other devices are already on beta, while this one is still Alpha.

There is a chance we won't get a beta.

    As a OnePlus 8 T-Mobile user myself, the best way to install this ROM is to install an Android 12 Custom ROM first, then after installing the A12 ROM reboot to fastboot then fastboot update aospa.zip then you won't have any errors.

    Instructions
    [1] Download the latest fastboot zip we released (hint: it has an -image appended to zip name)
    [2] Reboot to bootloader.
    [3] Flash the fastboot zip with "fastboot update aospa-*-image.zip"
    [4] Reboot into recovery after it is done flashing & wipe userdata.

    If you are coming from Alpha 1, you must clean flash due to recent commits related to userdata. If you are coming from Alpha 2 you can dirtyflash it.

    If you already flashed Alpha 1 and want to update, then you can just sideload the OTA in recovery if it is avaliable, although there might be only fastboot images up for the latest version so keep that in mind.

    Alright guys, alpha 2 is out and ready to download!
    Please make sure to wipe userdata if you are coming from ALPHA 1!

    I would also like to welcome OP8T to the party.
    Everything besides ultrawide camera seems to be in line with OP8/OP8Pro, feel free to let me know if I missed something.

    Alright guys, Sapphire Alpha 3 is out and ready to download!
    But sadly I got some bad news for you all with this release, I won't be able to continue OP8 builds anymore as my OP8 Pro got stolen recently. We will discuss in our team who will take care of the builds from now on.

    OP9R Is now also in a part of the party. Since it's a blindbuild based on our 8T sources I can't guarantee it works as flawless as the other builds. Please let us know if there are any issues.

    Full changelog will follow some times later. Or maybe never, who knows.

    For now you can download the builds from GDrive and Telegram, AFH is still uploading.

    Is feature X working in this rom?
    - If its not mentioned under issues its most likely working.

    Does safetynet work on this rom?
    - Yes, safetynet works out of the box and doesnt require any additional modules or hacks.

    My wireless display doest work.
    - WFD is currently completly removed in my builds because it crashes anyway with the old blobs.

    I notice some screen flicker on dark backgrounds.
    - That's normal, for some reason 60 and 90/120Hz dont have the same colors and you can see it change when smooth display is enabled and it switches between normal and high refresh rate.

    My phone goes randomly into crashdump mode.
    - Simply disable 5G in settings, for some reason there are carriers that dont properly work right now.
