This is what I am curious of as well. I would try it out, however, there are a few features that may go missing that I can't easily live without. Those features would be:

- Now Playing (which I know could be added manually - so no worries there)
- Visual Voicemail
- Call & Text Screening
- Camera/Video Quality (which I see has been discussed with mixed statements in the comments)

- Lastly, I would be curious to see if there is an alternative variant with 64bit only GApps so that they would all work on the P7P version of the phone - as I saw one comment mentioning that half of the apps weren't working since they were the 32bit versions. I haven't used a custom ROM since the Galaxy Note 3 lol - so I'm no longer aware of which GApps packages are available, haha.

Oh, and also, does the fingerprint scanner work with the phone in 1080P mode? For instance, can I set it up correctly in 1440P mode and then switch back to 1080P mode and still have both the fingerprint scanner and face unlock working correctly?

If I hear anything back about this, I (and a few others) may give the ROM a try in the near future =).

Thanks all and take care!
I think there is no point of installing custom roms on Pixel 6 and 7. We only lose half of great features and since new tensor chip inside I doubt even the best developers here can optimize the OS like Google can.

The only feature you'll miss is pixel specific adaptive charging. Everything else works perfectly on p6p or p7p. At least it works on p6p because p7p roms are in beta stages.

I was the one complaining about the camera quality, i switch back to stock but the problem with the video and photo quality persisted so i guess it's an issue with my device, i contacted Google and apparently my device could be defective so I'm doing an RMA with them

To be honest i though the same but i have this rom a try and it's really smooth, fast and battery last longer

This rom supports every feature you want except now playing (which is being worked on)

64 bit only was enforced by Google for the Pixel 7 series and will be enforced everywhere else going forward, the Gapps that we include in the rom are 64 bit compatible

Is there a way you can enable 32 bit apps by default following this?

You could do like a rooted variant of this rom with 32 bit support, that be awesome

Sadly camera quality on any device with a custom rom won't be as good as the camera sources are closed.
This is VERY valuable knowledge - thank you. Camera performance is paramount for me. You just saved me hours of work and worry wiping, flashing, setting up PA and maybe Lineage, only to have to revert back to stock due to image quality issues. Hopefully someday camera source code may be made open, or maybe some of the brilliant devs out there may figure out a solution.

The Google Camera was made to run on Pixel devices, whatever HALs, libs, permissions, etc, not in AOSP already can be extracted from the device itself (and it's not a lot, lol)

My cam works just fine, if this is the first time being on a Pixel for some of you, then you're stressing about nothing, lol, Google Camera was made for Pixels.

I can't speak for this PA build because I haven't flashed it, my builds have everything stock has, plus some. I can still use my camera to zoom @ 30x, the macro works as expected, now playing, etc, etc

There's only one way to see if a custom ROM is right for you...

That's my two pennies...

Don't believe him, his statement is wrong. I have already said that yesterday but seems like people just keep skipping it.

I think you can use the official gcam with PA.

If I flash the latest Beta 1 over stock and relock the bootloader, will I pass SafetyNet?

Can I OTA future updates with a locked bootloader?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that is a very bad idea.
Just flashed. Here are my observations:
  1. You are unable to relock bootloader due to the ROM being unsigned I assume.
  2. Although the device shows as being UNCERTIFIED, I was able to install Netflix and all my bank apps. Google Wallet works too.
  3. This ROM is fast and so smooth. It is a night and day difference between stock.
Many many thanks Paranoid Team. Excited what future updates bring.

Relocking a bootloader on a custom ROM is almost always a very bad idea.
back when I wsa still using pixel 6 pro and currently helping my friend with his pixel 6 with HentaiOS rom, no issue relocking bootloader only that it requires custom avb key (from the ROM dev) in order to be able to relock bootloader. And OTA update afterwards can be sideloaded via ADB in recovery mode.

Hi everyone! How is battery life on this? I'd heard that stock ROM has had dramatic battery life improvement with subsequent patches after launch, and I was wondering how this compares.
This hasn't been updated since November of 2001 do not flash or your phone will explode with rainbows and glitter . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

One of the admins on telegram mentioned that they plan a build for march.

Well I flashed this to my Pixel 7 Pro.

It bootlooped for a while and then just settled on a black screen. Completely screwed.
Plug it into a PC, it comes up as a USB Serial Device (COM4).

Cannot do anything with it at all.

Wait.. Did you flash this rom which is based off of Nov firmware while probably being on stock Feb firmware??🤡

Could we get the march security update for this? Im thinking of switching back to the stock pixel rom as that security vulnerability is a really bad one.

We are very excited to announce the beta of Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.

On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.

Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Organization Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

    Notice

We kindly ask all of you that are in a position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

This rom has support for OTA updates. If you plan to stick around with PA, your feedback will be appreciated on our new OTA system. We're consistently testing full and incremental OTA updates.

    Key Features

    - Face unlock support
    - A slew of Pixel exclusive features
