I've been using the rom for a couple of weeks and am absolutely loving it.
But there are few adjustments to make that would really amp up the experience. It goes:

1. Reducing the status bar padding below the notch a little bit (just like in stock MIUI).
2. Having the option to toggle Fullscreen mode in Gesture settings, like hiding the gesture bar entirely and the drop-down icon while typing in Gboard.
3. Turning the display off by double tapping the status bar from any app.
4. Replacing the Google Camera Go with Aperture from LOS.

I've been running the rom for about a month and so far, I like it a lot. It's a bit barebone but I have yet to run into any issue.
This thread looks pretty dead though, is the rom development still ongoing?

Yes it's very much alive. June update was skipped due to some internal conflicts. The conflicts has therefore been resolved and currently we are waiting for a release build to be ready so we can test it and release it ASAP.

Should the slide down menu (where you can toggle internet, gps, bt, restart the phone and all that) really be accessible from the lock screen on a locked device? I'm not sure it's a bug but I couldn't find any option to change that behaviour and that's just unsafe.

That stuff is custom afaik. @herna what's your take on this?

Looking at a stock android 13 GSI, it seems you're right. That's an actual design choice. I have no idea what weird thought process led to that glaring security flaw though.

I noticed the default device name for BT is set to Asus something. It can be renamed in the UI but it should be an easy enough fix.
BTW, android auto works fine here.

Hi, I'm kind of new to this particular device but here's how far I've gotten:
Unlocked bootloader (the official way)
Flashed official TWRP
Formatted/wiped and flashed Topaz beta 3.
All good except TWRP seems to have been replaced with stock recovery and I'm unable to revert to TWRP through fastboot. How do I get it back?
Also, is there any harm if I flash the forced encryption disabler? Which one is recommended? I was thinking NEO. Am I on the right track?

Thanks!

So anyone unable to flash anything after installing the ROM, at least here's how to get magisk onboard:
extract boot.img from ROM zip and copy to downloads (or whatever else) folder on the device
install the magisk app
when you run it the first time, it will ask you to provide image to flash, point it in the direction of above-mentioned boot.img
magisk will patch the boot.img and put a patched/renamed boot.img in the same location which you now have to copy to your PC as magisk_patched_boot.img
do an adb reboot bootloader
with the device in fastboot mode, do a fastboot flash boot magisk_patched_boot.img
fastboot reboot and prosper
hope this helps

So how do I flash something (like Magisk or any other mod) post ROM install without TWRP or OrangeFox?

Yes this is the right way to do it for magisk.

To apply an update go to recovery and use adb sideload rom.zip or kernel.zip (need platform-tools on pc)

I tried magisk that way, it wouldn't work. nothing flashed with adb sideload after flashing the ROM.
I don't understand if this is a ROM limitation or device limitation.
I was able to flash TWRP just fine when I unlocked the bootloader on stock MIUI. I read there's no recovery partition on this device so where did TWRP go when I flashed it on stock? Boot partition?
Yes there is no recovery partition on this device.
Recovery is in ramdisk in boot partition.

For Magisk installed the application like any other application, then in magisk patched the boot.img of the rom.
Then reboot bootloader --> fastboot flash boot boot.img

We are very excited to announce Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.

On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.

Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Organization Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

    Notice

We kindly ask all of you that are in a position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

I am sorry for noob questions, but which file should I download from the website? One is name "Recovery Option" and the other is "Fastboot Option". And in the instructions, how am I supposed to replicate the steps mentioned in "Instructions (Firmware flashing)"?
The choice is yours, you can choose whether to follow recovery option or fastboot option. Instructions are provided respectively.

As for firmware flashing, do what it says? You obviously need windows/Linux with cmd prompt / linux terminal to do so.

I have to flash tomorrow (waiting to unlock the bootloader).
    I have platform tools r33.0.1 and r33.0.3
Do I absolutely have to use r31.0.3?
No you can use r33. The problem lies with r34.
    2
    Thank you!

By the way to flash the firmware can I copy paste the commands from OP in cmd (the firmware files will be in the platform-tools directory)
Yeah sure you can do that
