Hi. What flashing option do you people recommend, why and how would the flashing option affect the os?

Fastboot or Recovery

The video call in facebook messenger and whatsapp is terribly poor quality... there is a meaningless blue glow around the camera and only in the middle is the normal image visible

I'm sorry for being so annoying but this is my first rom that i'm going to flash. I don't understand when you say "install this rom like pixel experience".
With paranoid, we have 2 method:
Recovery:
1. unlock bootloader
2. install twrp through fastboot
3. format data
4. install rom
5. reboot into recovery
6. format data
7. boot system
Fastboot:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Use miflash tool to flash rom through fastboot
Your rom file must 100% for your device, or your phone'll be bricked

I've watched this tutorial, is this really that easy to install? Or there is something that this tutorial doesn't show? I've already applied to mi for unlocking the bootloader and now im waiting. And what method do you recommend. What is easier and would this rom work with SPESN or Redmi Note 11 NFC

recovery is safer than fastboot. A SD card is reccomended. Because fastboot depend on your connection between pc and phone, if it break, your phone may bricked

Would the flashing method affect the system at all. Or it would be same in both ways? Fastboot seems far easier and less worrying about making wrong move. Since in the video it says to flash the default miui rom then flash paranoid android

Yes, both are the same result, different method, fastboot is easier but you need a stable connection with your pc, recovery is harder but safer when you can backup your android and restore it whenever you want.
If you update to the lastest version of miui, you don't have to worry about it.

So if i have good and stable usb connection, i will be just fine with using fastboot method? Since from the video recovery seems harder, and for some reason he flashed the miui rom first

Problem portrait mode in last beta.
First of all, bug reporting here is for stable releases. Second, it's a known bug related to the custom kernel the build's using. No workaround actually.

    When will Android 14 arrive?
PA? Most likely, next year. By the way, it is considered rude here in the forum to ask for ETA (estimated time of arrival).

We are very excited to announce the alpha/beta of Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.

On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.

Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Organization Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

    Notice

We kindly ask all of you that are in a position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

This rom is nice, almost perfect. Almost evrything works according to my usage. Frustratrated of
using mi rom and their security app and coming from a oneplus experience, I had to move to other rom.
As of proprietory camera driver as I understand, I didn't find any camera app to work properly and
I prtend I don't have a camera with this crappy mobile phone.
Now coming to this rom, I found some issues which I am listing below.

    1. Video calling works, tap2wake works and is stable(unlike Xtended, haven't tried crDroid yet)
    2. No secure lockscreen i.e. notification menu on lockscreen is visible
    3. No way to change navigation buttons functionality (i.e. long press & double tap)
    4. No custom navigation panel style.
    5. No display when incoming call (perhaps a bug) at times.
    6. No AOD and no lockscreen clock customization.
    7. Can't install twrp succesfully (The A/B methods are really messy and also fastboot and fastbootd) and I haven't risked anything using magisk.
    8. Don't know if fast charging works(no fast charge visual confirmation).
    9. Only one screen off gesture (double tap), have to long press power button to invoke torch.

But I do appriciate the good work of the developer. I'm using this rom as a daily driver. I haven't checked crDroid or PixelExperience.
Perhaps someone can shed some light on that.

Thank you all. Have a nice day.

Apparently there are 3 known bugs right now:
    • GPS not working
    • Video not working on Chromium >113
    • Issues with screenshot on on some apps in work profile
However, the latest update also brought the stock MIUI camera which is great. Apart from that, everything else is superb as I previously commented. Battery, etc. everything s great.

I've been dirty flashing since early beta and had no problem with GPS however (even in Stable 3), only after I clean flashed into Stable 3 that I get the bug.
Funny, I skipped Stable 3 for the upcoming beta releases what seem to explain that I never got the gps issue. On the latest beta (from Dev's sourceforge folder) Chrome even plays videos again.

I use Pixel Experience Plus as daily driver and recently made a switch, here's my first impression/comparison
    • Comes with GCam Go instead of the stock camera
    • 4 numbers pin (PE+ makes you press the enter button)
    • No double back tap
    • Lock screen by double tapping home instead of quick settings
    • At a Glace can be turned off
    • Google search bar can be turned off
    • Icon and Font customization
    • Tons of feature flags on Home settings
    • Recent menu shows Screenshot + Lens option instead of Screenshot + Select
    • Comes with more GApps then PE+ (YouTube, Drive, Maps, Gmail, etc.)
    • No option to hide battery icon when percentage is shown. Only option is to show icon, icon + percentage, icon + percentage when charging, or hide everything :(
    • The one-handed mode gesture can be used for notification instead
I'd say they both have similar overall feel, with some customization changed in favor of other. PA feels a bit smoother, not sure if that's just my feeling. I wouldn't compare it with crDroid. crDroid adds tons of features and customization while sacrificing the overall looks.

This is my first impression, so I have yet to test the battery and performance. Please let me know if there was any mistake. I'll make an update after using this for a while
