Everything works fine. I've extended my internal storage memory using this method, but i've got one bug. My overall memory size displays wrong. I've got 16Gb internal and 64Gb external memory volume, but in settings averall memory size displays as 128 Gb.

It's not the patch it's Samsung's modifications that are causing it. It happens on all Samsung devices.
Ignore the combined storage capacity.
Just pay attention to the separate internal and external capacity which is correct.
Hello ashyx , i instal your adaptal in a phone of my friend, and i make a backup with twrp in ext.sd , and after i wanted restor a backup and failed....:(
is not posible restor backup of adoptable storage in twrp?? sorry if someone can explain, thanks

Works

Woks on my Galaxy tab s2 710 version. It took a few tries but I formatted the card first. Then installed it with TWRP. After that I had to take the card out and put it in again. I got a message to setup the card for internal. I couldn't find it under settings ether.

Twrp backup

I have read this complete post and it states root not required and references the op that states no root. When trying to learn how to do this initial backup via twrp I have read the device needs to be rooted to do a twrp nandroid backup. So what is it, root or no root.

To run your file may not require root but to do a backup does(?) require root?

Please help with specifics for a tab s2 9.7.

I power up with power, volume dn, home and then chg to vol up, then what do I select to get to twrp menu?

Thanks in advance for helping.

Couple other things, the Samsung Tab s2 is not a listed device in twrp. So how to get to the menu if I can't select my device. And this thread is specifically for the tab s2. Mine is 9.7". So not able to do backup or install your file I have downloaded using twrp so what now?

Help help help .

You're trying to use the TWRP manager. This an app and totally different from TWRP recovery.

You need to find the TWRP thread for twrp in the development section.

Thanks so much for replying. I still have not tried your solution but instead found the following, "adb shell, sm list-disks, sm partition disk xxx,xx private" in another post and tried it but doesn't work. All it did was change some amount of reported total storage to like 68gb/128gb (don't even have 128gb card) but i still have internal and external storage listed separately and after re installing apps the result is the same. Most of internal storage used and external 64gb card mostly empty. I am going to try your solution. Comments appreciated.

I have gone through everything meticulously and finally formatted as internal storage but still nothing is saving onto the sd card. Still getting pop ups saying to delete when trying to install. I do get the bug that shows combined storage wrong(which i dont care) but nothing isaving onto sd card apart from what i transfer across

But when I do go into storage > sd card > apps it shows all the apps on my phone.

confused

Thanks

Does anyone know if the update to Nougat will include the ability to adopt the SD card as a part of the operating system, i.e., there is no need to patch if one updates? Will the patch affect the ability to update an otherwise stock Tab S2 SM-T713?

This is your thread.
YOU'RE the one that mentioned "S7" and "S".
You 'mention' to this person he is posting in an S2 forum?

What about reply #8 "Note 7"

OR reply #17 "Galaxy A5"?

OR reply#20 "Galaxy J5"

Curious, why not chew those folks out too? Er, sorry, ment to say...did you also advise those folks they are in the wrong thread? Did you offer them links to there device thread too?

Are you some sort of simpleton or just enjoy making pointless posts? :silly:
Can't you see I was helping the guy get the correct twrp to flash the patch? Hence my statement.

I suggest you get your faculties in order or GTFO.

First of all, simple asking questions you get bashed for. Then I read RUDE comments like yours.
Using Android Google Chrome, this site lags like a mofo.

I'm going to delete all my posts, flip YOU the bird, and say fk off

Done, all up to may 2016
I'll log into my other 2 accounts and erase those too.
Have a great day.... Time for you to be creative on your ' feedback ' ... Don't forget to hit the " Thanks " button when done.

Looks like somebody needs a tutorial on how to link to individual posts...

Not sure what you are going on about. AFAIC the person creating this thread is not putting this out there as a tutorial on flashing code into your device. There is some assumption that when you get a .zip, you are going to have enough brains to flash it using your custom recovery. In case you didn't know, a custom recovery can be installed on a non-rooted device.

Some of the others you mentioned are stating they had success using this method. The person you are referring to seems to have some dysfunction following simple directions posted in the OP since he insists on using ODIN to install a patch.

Ashyx even sent so far as to point him at the appropriate place to find his applicable update and instructions. Don't rag at Ashyx for getting upset if the guy fails to understand wtf he is being told. Ashyx tried to get him on the right path. He could have simply ignored the guy. But he did actually try to help him. What did you do? There was nothing stopping YOU from clarifying things for the guy.

Oh and one last thing...,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3205135 <--- This is not a Q & A thread.

Good luck getting any kind of 3rd party dev support on your android devices ;)
(And good luck "deleting" your accounts :p)

IINM Samsung removed the ability to adopt storage in the MM release. Not sure why they would do that. I didn't check to see if their Nougat release was equally neutered before installing Linage OS. Perhaps someone running the latest TW 7.0 release can respond (I'm don't want to swap images just to answer a simple question).
