Here's the basics of my request. Live in a fringe area of 3g reception. My MAXX gets at least 1 bar more in coverage. Clients never complain of reception issues. GS3 gets inconsistent coverage... I have updated to the newest modem... works better but still under par to motto. Is there any way to allow this phone to use more power to transmit and rec signal?? If there is a working solution I will be happy to donate 200 to any dev that can make this happen.

Just inherit with the design? Or it possible to increase the phone signal power??

You probably already know this, but, you will have to either wait for Verizon to release a new radio or install a signal booster at home. I don't think that your request is possible, I could be wrong though....

Thanks for the input. I will give you a call on the number you left.

Ps... tried the booster. In fact I run a 3watt kit in my car which works great. The in home kits I don't find all that great.... unless you are in front of the repeater. Basically too limiting imo.

Try a directional antenna and getting it as high up and away from metal objects as you can.. Look over at SolidSignal.com for some hints..

From what I understand Samsung reduced the radio's power to meet lower radiation standards. I think a newer firmware could solve this problem but the question is will we get one.
Really? If that's the case, shouldn't someone be able to come out with a kernel which ups the power of the radios? That would be absolutely amazing if they could!

Upping the power of the radio will also eat through your battery quicker and doesn't necessarily mean it will make the radio work any better..

Better designed internal antennas would be sufficient in most cases.. And since Samsung has a looooong history of dishing out poor radios, I doubt increases in radio power will help if any..
