Paypal App Check Image Capture Problem

I've been googling and googling and can't seem to find even a hint of an answer, I decided to start here.

I have a rooted incredible (ADR6300) running MIUI 1.7.15.0

I downloaded the paypal app which now has check image capture for direct deposit into paypal account.

I launch this app and the image capture part. It asks to take a picture of the front of the check, which I do. No problem.

Then it wants me to flip the check over and take a picture of the back - here I get a black screen - no camera image. The phone isn't frozen because I can easily cancel. I actually went as far as to install CM7 to see if it was a ROM issue but it did the same thing. I'm pretty sure this isn't an app specific problem, but I can't be sure.

Anyone have any experience with an issue like this? I would love to get it fixed. Thanks!

I am rooted and running SkyRaider 4.2 with no issues. I have used PayPal to capture two check images to date.

Are you running stock camera app or after market?

I presume it's the stock camera app - both miui and CM7 have camera "app" incorporated into the ROM

I suppose I could try some other camera app from the market. Maybe see what camera app skyraider uses.

Thanks.

So, as an experiment, i loaded skyraider and low and behold it worked.

I'm presuming it's because skyraider is based on stock ROM verses ASOP like CM7 and MIUI

Of course I went through all that and the paypal app wouldn't accept the check - error about not being able to read the check or something. it's a handwritten check so I'll test it again when I have a different check.

Thanks for the input.
