I Couldn't find any lead to a practical answer on the Web. Only generic-non-useful-well-known.

The big issue started only two days ago. I know she's aging fast in the last few months,
so we normally call each other 4 to 7 times a day.

TODAY: I visited her at 11:20.... at 14:05 she had already called me three times. In one she was not intelligible :-(

So to put down a little the stress on me, meanwhile letting her keep her phone...
...I thought about taking a selective action on blocking only that number.

While continuing working normally for everything else ... Say... the phone refuses her calls:

* from 00:00 to 08:30
* from 09:45 to 12:30
* from 13:30 to 16:30
* from 17:10 to 18:45
* from 23:00 to 00:00

While I may call her anytime, She will be able only to reach me on the usual schedule that I've set:
* Coffee time 08:30>09:45
* Meal time 16:30>17:00
* Supper time 18:45>23:00

BUT NOT DURING WORKING HOURS AND NIGHT

I'm not sure exactly how we can help you here. What are you trying to accomplish?

DURING WORKING HOURS AND NIGHT

But every other calls do the same as before

So to clarify, you're asking if there is a way to silence her calls during certain times?

The only thing I can think of is to block her number. This won't prevent you from calling her.

Otherwise, you can set up Do Not Disturb to silence all calls during those periods, but I don't think that's what you're trying to accomplish.

I do not know of a way to limit a specific number to specific times of day.

She will be able only to reach me on the schedule I set but not
DURING WORKING HOURS AND NIGHT

..... the other call as per usual

That's time-related to a single number!!!

NOT A PHONE POLICY.....that change my phone from working normally

I understand what you're saying, but again I don't know if there is a way to do this.

Information was added for context:
I was thinking someone else got the same issue FI:
from Kids ( during working hours ) ... and The Boss ( while on holiday)

---> There is a manual way:
on the contact > hamburger dots > "send to mailbox "/"unsend to mailbox"
- (provided you do not have a mailbox active ) The Caller will get the "Busy" response.

Now I've to find a way to make that automatic
I'll report back

I tried to work with MacroDroid and other similar Apps:
  • (1) They can sense "a call" that you may generically "Block/unblock"-
    -- I didn't find a way to sense "a specific caller" to block only it
  • (2) Apps cannot interact with the "Contact" App
    --- to insert or remove "send to mailbox" on a specific name

---->Results NO SOLUTION so far -
unless inserting manually the "send to mail" then you have to remember to remove it!!!!
- These two are the only two ways I've found possible.
at the moment "block" or "send" are on a manual basis, no automation

> Any other suggestions gratefully received.

@AlainCh2 I've no own experiences with the followong two apps but maybe one of them is able to preform the desired task? Either Tasker or Llama.

Speak to your mom. Try making her understand that she avoids calling you when you are at work or at night time, unless there is some emergency.

To answer your question, you can set the ringtone for her number to silent.

Thanks,
that's what I want to avoid > changing the normal way my phone works.

That's the difficult task:
I need to act on a specific Number/ContactName.... all the rest being unchanged.

With MacroDroid I was able to automatically "block" a specific Contact,
but then the caller gets "Call Refused"

When I manually set that Contact to "send to voicemail",
the caller gets "Line Busy"

It will look bad if I refuse her calls, do you agree ?

It told her yesterday: and she started crying...
... "I'm not good for nothing anymore, can't remember things"

I also tried not to answer her calls two weeks ago.... but being quite unhealthy myself after three earth strokes...
alarmed she went crazy: in ten minutes she had called two of my three sons, and a friend ..all called me alarmed ready to come to me in my help... and she also posted on FB.

So far .. not been good

Looking around I found an article about an app called Mr Silent. Since I don't know if I can link an external site, I just report part of the article, as app feature: "The next [setting] is the Contact mode in which you can configure specific contacts for which your phone will be allowed to ring or set to silent mode. If you have a caller that’s not in your contact list, you can simply type in the contact number and tap the add button next to it. Any calls from blacklisted contacts will be silenced automatically".
I take a look in Play Store but seems not (or no more) present. I don't have further informations.
Good luck
