I think I will never buy Samsung once more. S4 mini is not the lowest price phone, and it is not so old. It is avialable for buying. But it is not supported. F#ck you, Samsung.

Wow it's getting hostile in here. Samsung have always run like this since the S1 which got stuck on ginger bread, S2 with 4.1.2 etc. Even on kit kat our S4 Mini's are still great great phones. We can't deny Samsung make good phones or we wouldn't have bought one in the first place. One reason they won't put the effort in is because our internal storage is to small to incorporate all the bloat from phone carriers on top of lollipop including Samsung bloat. Though I don't see why that would stop the unlocked sim free phone being updated...
We still have lollipop just in custom ROM format because of amazing devs like F4k, one of the reasons I recently purchased this phone 2 days ago, even knowing lollipop official might not happen. I've seen a few phones recently who received the lollipop official with people complaining of problems and showdowns. It's a lot of bling to be honest not much more...
Though I'd be happy to sign a petition for the lollipop update just to see if Samsung responds.

This device is over two years old.. Lol its far from a money maker for Samsung, I don't blame them for not supporting it, are they upgrading the s3 or s2 to lollipop??

I agree that it's a great phone...
I'm more pissed at Google than Samsung though... Since the phone is stuck with KitKat, I can't use my SD card properly (unless rooted & bye bye warranty), and it's not like the internal storage is plentiful...

I dont understand how Samsung can talk about low memory in S4 Mini when SM-G530 Grand Prime has only 1GB RAM and it will have Lollipop.
Hey guys, do any of you believe samsung doing "comprehensive testing" to determine lollipop won't give "optimal experience" ??
My opinion is they did not start building update. Saving time and effort as they think it is not worth putting that extra effort.
I feel F4k and arco68 did better job than samsung devs in many ways.

i have a big request,a very big chalenge to persons who have good android knowledges for to make an "unnofficial" stock Lollipop 5.1 ! :silly:
- the three-source is good for Lollipop (drivers and others work fine for L customs ,no problems... )
- there are AOSP L sources
- there are libs and apps of S6 (or others ) Lollipop .
- there are Gapps ...
==> a "pure" stock firmware multi-CSC ,just rooted (no lots of teaks ,no "frills" ....just pure Samsung ) but not with all Google bloats (minimal gapps ! )
what it miss ??? it may work ???
it's a pity that ploiki have trouble with some members (minority ! ) and i hope that HTC mania's "Lollipop team" will find all the solution (they have knowledges !!! ) ........and hope that there are other intrepids courageous devs !
=> with a "team" work in "share" ,i think it's possible !!! :silly:
maybe ask help on known teams too(pac,aicp,rr ,ground zero.... )
If a project like this one is born ==> i think thatit will be a very very big success !!!!!! and show to Samsung that it's possible to have Lollipop (updated to lasts 5.1 ) on S4-mini

here and everywhere on all sections ,we only see "simple" modified firmwares ,kernels and customs roms ....... but ploiki and "S5 Lollipop team" began to open a new way of development .
