Yes, that's why there are custom ROMs for the device.

Smaller/Newer companies care more about their users/buyers more ... I hope so at least Cause if we have more customization - we'll have more to brag about and a happy client brings more clients

Was going to buy this one, but the lack of kernel source code made me not want it. It's disappointing to know this. I also suffered lots of nasty bugs from official roms, so I want choice.

I also want to be able to run LineageOS 15+ (Android 8+). Any alternative?
