That is just awesome.
Maybe those reboots did a reset on the counter?

APX mode only allows flashing so you can flash a bootloader, possibly a recovery and such.

If we could get into apx mode and get the bootloader image, we could edit it and flash it again to device. Or we could flash a new bootloader like uboot.

So if you guys can get into apx mode, let us know.

I will try to enter it tonight but I need to know how to pull the bootloader file...

I hope you can enter, but even if you enter to apx mode you need secure boot key to make something with nvflash(apx mode tool). So If you enter apx mode, just let us know. We can do something about sbk.
Good luck ;)

I don't know if screen backlight will turned on but while you are doing that you must be connected to computer(obviously :p). You can check if tablet is connected via apx interface by typing lsusb to terminal. There should be an entry like nvidia apx mode or like something.
And, do you have a hangouts account(you know, google account.. :p)? You can join us on hangouts. Pm me your username.

I have a sony tablet s stuck in APX mode only. I have been doing my best to get it out of it for a few weeks now. I have had no luck. i have managed to get nvflash to recognize it, or at least i think i did. whenever i type "nvflash.exe --sync" or any command I will get

NVflash started
rcm version 0x4
command send failed (usb write failed)

the device will now unmount from apx mode on the computer and i have to disconnect the tablet and hold power button down only for about 10sec than reconnect. It will be recognized as apx mode again. And not sure if this matters, but the screen is off in apx mode on mine. no backlight, nothing.

The 0x4 error, from what i read. Means locked bootloader. I dont know if the tablet will be much help, but as of right now im just bouncing around reading. Just thought id give my two cents since ive read about people having trouble getting in to APX.

I have seen a thread some time ago that the device will go in apx mode when the bootloader is corrupted (basicly its hard bricked) so it dosent need the bootloader to go in apx in the first place, so you can pretty much always recover from it except on this tab since its locked down and we dont know much about it...

The think is how did the bootloader get corrupted in the first place?, maybe shutdown during OTA in the bootloader flashing stage?

Ill explain more on this weird problem. I bought it off craigs from a guy who said it was broken. 20 dollars later i bring it home charge it and start it up. it was bootlooping. so i did a hard reset with buttons and everything was all good. for about a month it worked like normal. than it started force closing on me. another hard reset and it worked for a few more weeks. than one day my daughter was installing an app and it froze. so instead of using the reset button i just held down the power button and it turned off. it never turned back on. i did everything i could think of and stuff i read. i let it die completly and charged it back up to full. every button combination known to man. even tore it apart to remove the battery. nothing. so i kept on digging. found nvflash from the acer forums and went through many beers and sleepless nights finding the apx driver for it. once i got it to read it. i found out about the locked bootloader from the error i get. and here i sit. i have no luck with wheelie since i have no blob files to even try. wheelie helps get passed the bootloader deal, from there you can use nvflash. it is meant for acer tablets only though. well, from what i read anyway. so in a nutshell no more tablet for me. i did root my tablet with the all in one tool, that was about it. i really loved that tablet. thats why i have not gave up on it. im thinking of just trying random blob files to see what happens. but that seems like im killing it twice. i doubt it will work anyway. i can hold my own a bit on this stuff. i read till my eyes bleed before i even post a issue. so if any one has a crazy idea, im all ears. im working off windows but i have ubuntu as well if i need to go that route. i dont mean to hi jack this thread if it looks that way.

You will need to get a blob file designed for that device, blob files are more lower level then bootloaders so be careful when doing any APX flashing even if you get an error. :p

yea i read that they are device specific. but just thinking of doing it to see if wheelie will bypass the lockdown. nvflash kicks me out with any command i enter. so the apx flashing part seems like a no dice either way.

At least we all know how to get in to APX mode countless times now.

what did you do?
I flashed a cwm zip via Flash Gordon(Google now for ics.). And when it restarted, tablet stuck in a sony-loop. And when I flashed a ota zip, something went wrong before the second stage(dot) and when I applied a lsusb command under linux, there was an entry like Nvidia Corp.

Did the meme wrong. :p
Mmmmm, I wonder what APX Mode commands are there...
